I feel like a real prick lad but despite our good intentions me and justy have realised that we simply wouldn't have the time to run the team. I know that we should have realised this before saying we'd take over but it was just a mistake on our parts. Therefore, rather that mess about with it, we're going to step out so that someone else can take over.
Really sorry if anyone feels like we've messed them about but we only found out ourselves yesterday morning that stan had left and we didnt want to see the team folding. I'm sure someone else will step up to the mark and take the swifts on because they are a great wee club with some great people about it.
Best of luck to the swifts and i really hope someone steps in soon. Sorry again lads!

meeting to decide future of the club at 6.45 at the countrymans, to decide were we go from here. everyones got the text, so tonight we will know the swifts fate. we will hopefully have a team to keep us going until we appoint a new manager
was talking to stan there, he doesnt want the club to fold he said he is not cut out to be a manager he said he hates trying to keep people happy and dropping people and stuff makes him feel bad, he said hes only cut out to be a supporter, putting nets up, helping out at training and supporting, hes going to help out at steadfast as he was asked to help out with training and stuff, thats what he wants to do, less responsibility for him and he can enjoy it again without worrying who is going to be annoyed at being dropped as he will not be the manager. i wish him the best and at least the pressure is off him and he can enjoy watching and just helping out.

Kirk m8 put your foot down from the start and no 1 man is bigger than any club. 1st player that doesnt give u wat your giving them tell them where to go along with a almighty slap but in all honesty m8 these things can work out just give it time as we all knw something similar happened with us and things have been improving slowly but surely!!!!

Anyone who takes on management has a hard job and will always have a few people who don't agree with them, sure I'm forever telling Pele to fack aff!! As Clown said there put your foot down and give it a go. Big fair play mate if you try it when no one else has the Harry Halls for it!!!!

If stan loved the club so much why does he not just stay at Lisnafillen and help out, step back and let Kirk manage them and just keep an eye on how things are run, maybe there is another reason why he is leaving? but only Stan will know!!!!!!!
Kirk hope use dont fold m8, cause use seem to be a great bunch a lads.

lads could you not keep stan in some capacity as he knows the running of the thing, and just get somebody in, take a hit for a season to rebuild weve all been there,

(Attractive being a brave word when describing big Goram!! ;D)

Cant see stan changing his mind for quite a few reasons 1st bein the way he has been treated and disrepected by a quite a few players.... these players maybe didnt think there were doin wrong but when a man puts everything into a club including his own money simple things like missing training without a proper excuse, missing matches and not showing pride in the clubs shirt all these things were prob makin him think wats the point!!!! secondly i think by the sounds of things he's other teams that wld fully respect his commitment and passion for the game wanting him at there club and honestly cant blame them or him!!!

Some excellent points there Clown. The fact that the man was having to put his hand in his own pocket is ridiculous. With f**king prices of facilities (council need to take a good look at themselves, they're catering for the working/non working class FFS) it is vital everyone trains and pays the money. Teams can't survive in this day and age as prices for things now are a disgrace!!!! Agree too, big Duck will mentor him well before he leaves for the Glebe job!! ;D ;D

Stan puts his heart and soul into Lisnafillan and wears his heart on his sleeve for most of the time. Hes a super lad and I enjoyed my time at Lisnafillan, probably more so due to the fact that he was the manager and the way he run things.
This year has just not been a good start for the swifts, and I think Stan just needs a break! I have been there (as have we all) and I know how he feels!! I was surprised at him stepping down, but I suppose it has to be a 'clean-break' for him to regain that "passion" again.
No manager should have to dig into their own pockets, but unfortunately it does happen!!
Good luck to the big man whatever he does.
