i spoke to kevin today at the match and told him the craic but the lads were discussing it in the changing room after it and said it wouldnt be a bad idea, i forwarded kevins number and said i wouldnt mind him taking charge i have stated my opinion, we have to agree as a group though so we will see at training on monday A bad idea??? Letting a man who wants to take over a club who is in desparate need of a manager but has no interest from any other person?? Aye, sounds pure weak stupid!!  Obviously some eliments have a personal vendetta against McCrudden because that is ridiculous!! Obviously I'm not refering to Greene here as he openly supports the idea and has at least shown some initiative in trying to solve the situation. Fair play to Greene actually. Ye can't shoot the messenger!! |

It's probably because I heard at weekend that one lad is stopping it from happening because him and Kevin had a run it at a previous club!! Bad craic!!

You are correct Mr Fish, but it was not personal, as the player in question has taken it, it was something that came up at North End when we were trying to get it going again, its water under the bridge as far as Ian concerned,so why it has any thing to do with swifts I have no idea,but its sad that all who want me to help the club out have yet to get in touch one way or the other

i think at the start of all this there was no one at the club already who fancied taking it on full time, so we put the word out to see if anyone was interested.
To be fair to Kevin he did everythin he said he was going to and even came to wakehurst on saturday past in the pissin rain to see us in action. I was led to believe that it was pretty much a done deal, but then heard that Brian and Bobby fancied the job on a more permanent basis so, only because they were already at the club, thats what was agreed.
Not sure what exactly happened at northerd, heard a few stories but as they say thers always 2 sides...dont like to get involved with such things, im only there to play football.

from what i can tell, half the battle with managing any club is the time and effort it takes to get all the bits and pieces sorted....any you seem to be willing to put that effort in so any team you manage will feel the benefits of that. Just the same as we did when Stan was here, he took care of everything from start to finish.

either have i mate haha!! since ive been back from holidays weve played 2 away games just. I watched us play dunloy out there before the weddin and the pitch seemed narrow enough and the grass was really long, hope its been cut.
stan said it was a great pitch so we shall see...hopefully its in good shape so we can pass the ball about a bit cause we tore woodside apart at times when we played it on the deck. ill maybe have to pull a few strings again to get off work!!

hopefully the win on sat past will give us a bit of confidence to grab another 3 points this week. think that will move us up 2 places, maybe 3 depending on the c'dall result.
there was talk about us training out at ballee gravel pitches one night a week, i used to train there with the towers, decent enough and alot better than that tiny wee hall we trained in out in ahoghill last season!!

Managing a team is a lot more than training and picking a team, its a big commitment,it takes up a lot of your time and means building for the future, venues, funding,meetings the list is endless,it a thankless job, for when it goes wrong its the manager who carries the can and those on the playing squad walk away Scott free.

if things had happened a week or so earlier im sure kevin would have been brought in for the manager's job! i would have loved him to come in and do the job.
showing a lot of interest! he came down to watch and also talk to someone about what was going on!! i went over at half time and asked had he spoke with anyone and he said nobody has said to him, so it was brought up in after the game and most people seemed happy with it until booby said brian and him would be taking it on for now!
what more could the man have done??

To be fair though it seems that Kevin / Venom was openly touting himself for the job without too much encouragement from the current men in charge, ie Bob and Brian. Give these two guys a craic, they will do a great job ifeveryon gets behind them.

I put my name forward for the job because I was ask,I went to the match because I was ask,think touting a bit strong, don't get me wrong would have loved to give it a go,Swifts are a fair team in the making with the Right guidance will be in second division no prob.
