Somebody get me some soap and a wire brush but i actually agree with quasimodo on this one. wenger is a great manager for the business but he's screwing the arsenal fans. how long are they going to accept him bringing through young players & just when they are ready to compete he'll sell them. i respect what arsenal are doing with the wage budget etc but football has moved beyond them now. why would a top player sign a contract with them when he could get double at a team who will actually try to get him a medal too.

For all the plaudits mistakenly given to Arsenal and their competing on a shoestring why is their wagebill traditionally so high? Maybe cos Wenger (great talent scout my arse) will pay Barca or similar clubs top 17/18 yo talent 3 or 4 times what they are earning. Scattergun approach to youths, bring in 7 or 8 on £30000 per week each season and take the praise when 6 of these highly paid youngsters fade into obscurity and one turns in ;)to a Fabregas. Easily pleased the Gunners. I'd 8-2 see them tanked again at OT on Sat

Is that was mason's reason was ?
Thought united played a lot better tonight with reserve team and we got nothing. Think the difference was Chelsea's class up front and out inexperienced backline.
If you had of asked me on Sunday morning would I take 3 points and an extra time defeat in the cup I'd of bite your hand off, of course we'd of love the 2 wins but if we are being honest we thought we'd of got tanked in both. Another monkey of our back anyway. Ten years without a win in the league at the bridge.

Apparently it's all kicked off with James McLean again, said to have refused to have worn a shirt with a poppy on it today.

What has religion got to do with it? If people do not want to wear one, do you think they should be made to or castigated for not wearing one 'because everyone else does'?

Probably didnt feel comfortable wearing a shirt with a poppy on it, i worked with 15 guys who all wear 1 dosnt mean i have to.
I'm no fan of McClean, I've got the impression in the past that the man is a bit of a simpleton, but it's a personal choice at the end of the day. I find it a bit distasteful that some people hijack the symbolism of the wearing of a poppy for a naming and shaming session rather than actually focusing on the "respect" and "rememberance" aspect of the occasion.
