Martin rules himself out of the running. Pretty much what most expected. O'Neill, 59, said he had not been approached by the Irish Football Association. He added that he would not dismiss the possibility of accepting the Northern Ireland manager's job at a later stage in his career. Just a few lines reported on the BBC website......it also said that he wanted to get back into club management.....I dispair at the prospect of Dowie getting the job....not the man for me.

Brian kerr throws his name into the hat and tbh it would be a great appointment as brian has plenty of predigree working with up and coming players and has done a great job with the faroe's beating both lithuania and estonia and taking a point of norn iron his rein as eire manager was ok but he was left with a squad low in morale and commitment after mccarthy's departure but what would the norn iron fans think of a southener being in charge of there wee country

i'm going to agree with you clown!! imagine that lol. he's knowledge of international footie is 1st class, plus he seems better made for it than the day to day running of a team. sanchez - never magilton - possibly dowie - possibly
it's like our pool of players, we've very little to pick from for a "homegrown" manager, if money was no option i'm sure it would be a different crop of managers throwing their name into the IFA

Martin O'Neill has ruled himself out of the running while Jim Magilton and Chris Dowie have declared an interest.
Just took this off BBC website...... something you aren't telling us Dowie?
