Gazza book is very funny - He just joined Lazio and Lorenzo Amoruso i think it was rolls up in a new Lamborghini showing it off. better read that one again, big Lorenzo never played for Lazio don't like biographies tbh, black and blue by paul canoville ex chelsea is a great read though, 10 kids to different women, ex drug addict, mad story cascarino one was a decent read, quinn was slightly better than average though obcessed much with keano, fergie's managing my life also a v good read. for every one good biog there's easily a dozen which are brutal miracle of castel di sangro is one of the best football books i've read, out a few years back. it's about an american writer who lives in italy and latches on to this club for a year 'this is the one' is more recent, journo tells the story of 2 seasons following man utd descibing fergie's dealings with press armstrong book is decent too though 'rough ride' by paul kimmage is a better cycling book still have most of these if anyone wants to borrow pele, you done with that hartson book yet? Good insight into a few of these def will be on the look out. Na wee jnr really brought it ;D

Somehow I can't imagine anyone could get away with that nowadays!!! Big Cas has turned himself into a successful punter now and also has made a good few quid from winning a couple of big poker tournies. I think he was divorced again recently?

Just finished george bests there. Makes for real sad reading. Having said that he spent longer at utd than I thought he did.
Always blamed someone else or something else for his drinking right up untill the end. ( Was still alive when he finished this one there may be another book out since)

( Was still alive when he finished this one there may be another book out since) He didn't blame anyone else for his drinking other than himself and the fact alcoholism is an illness.

Did you not feel he was always blaming something for setting him off ? Granted he new he had an illness and admitted that. Suppose we all interpret things differently.

Wish id been lucky enough to see him play. I only saw him play in his testimonial but spent a lot of time with him away from football. He is not the monster that the media had portryaed of him a lot of the time. The true fans always stuck by him.

i must say iv stewed on the gascgoine autobiography, sadly paul had a mental disorder from an early age and being in the spotlight didnt help , he was for me one of the finest mifdfielders of his time , but his story is extreemly good reading , and i fully enthuse anyone who wishes to purchase it , that it will be money well spent.

Agree there with the Gazza book. Good read but the man had problems and you really sympathised with him. Tony Adams had a good book - again a bit sad in places as he let the drink take over Alan Hansen was a good read also but not as "exciting" as some others.

Stevie1 - apologies for my ignorance and maybe this is something I should know but did you know George Best personally. I'm taking it you did.

Gazza Autobiography was a great read. A very very tormented individual.
I loved Gazza. My hero growing up.
Once I read he had head-butted his wife I must admit I was devastated.
Great character, great footballer, and the book was a great read.
