Spike hill is the assistant coach. From my understanding he felt the player was eligible and walked as he was let down by the club again. They've also lost 7 points. Shambles doesn't n come close. To think Peter and Marty have allegedly earmarked £10m of our tax payers money to go into this calamity club for a new stadium is laughable Go f**k yourself jeff!!!

Bad night for the Irish League clubs. Crues out, Blues and Glens humped. FAI deserve a lot of credit for the turnaround in LOI. Saw today as well the 19 clubs recorded a total €241k profit last year. IFA/IPL need to sort something to strengthen the league as the co-efficient is close to rock bottom.
Btw, anyone see Henderson's miss? Brutal.
Heard reports of trouble at Rovers /Blues game. Blues put union flag & linfield flag on the flag poles in ground. guards wired in & then rovers fans ran up the pitch to try to get at them. With a bit of luck both clubs will get kicked out.

It's not good when you consider Airtricity League teams are still in pre season mode. Do Irish League teams not take it serious or what? Heard about the fleg incident, the rest was handbags apparently.....but would agree with you about kicking the rovers s**m out

I know the Reds sent down a reserve team to Cork as they were due to play Crues on the Sat. Lost 4-0 and tie was effectively dead. I was at the 2nd leg & have to say Cork looked good so even with full side i think they'd have beat Cliftonville over the 2 games. Glens tonight sent a very weak team. No ward, clarke, waterworth, carson etc. strange considering their financial predicament & the fact that the Oval will now be empty next week. Although maybe the players couldn't get time off work from jobs that actually pay them to go to sligo and play for a team who "might" pay them.

Handbags. As for the point about not taking it seriously. Crues won it last year. This year with Crues and cliffties going for the league I think they haven't taken it too seriously. As for blues...it was like men v boys tonight. Could have been more. Saying that...if we score the pen then it was game on again. O and the glens...well they're just s**te

Linfield were s**te pure and simple. Rovers looked like a team still in pre season tbh I wasn't impressed two years ago we woulda pulled that team apart the decline in our side is very worrying massive clear out needed from top to bottom.
As for the handbags it was just that. Guards didn't take to well to the union flag and Linfield flag going up on the official poles nor did the rovers fans. Rovers fans poured into the pitch towards our end luckily their players were out doing their warm down and theirs pleas for them to leave the pitch were acknowledged. Thought we were headn for another Morgan day lol odds wouldn't have been in our favour last night ;D

I work with a lad who plays for kilmore Rec ( same guy who advised me to lump on Cliftonville -3 ) and he was telling me Joe Gormley was talking to him after the game and told him hes still on his original contract at Cliftonville that he first signed at £40 (without bonuses) a week!

Asked my mate about this and he said he doesn't know the exact figures but would say this is about right. Joe was brought in from Crumlin Star after scoring 61 goals in a season. When he signed he was a squad player/young prospect. Only really since Scannell got injured has Joe become first pick. No doubt if he's at the Reds much longer, he'll get a rise. My mates a member so would see the balance sheets etc at AGM so I would say it's probably accurate.

Reds demolish Ballymena again ;D Get the score out ollie Very easy for the Reds today. Could and should have been more. Keeper kept the score down before he picked up what looked like a nasty shoulder injury when he made a great save from a Knowles free kick. Hopefully nothing too serious. What's the craic with big Ferguson? He in for the long haul? Weird body language from him. As his team were falling apart he just stood there leaning against the dug out like he hadn't a care in the world. Honestly running out of words to use to describe big Boyce. Another two goals today but as weird as it is to say for a guy that's scored thirty odd goals, his finishing's not even his strongest attribute. Head and shoulders above everyone at that level. The touch, vision etc is miles ahead. He'll get his medal this year but as much as I'd love to go and watch him every week next season he deserves the chance to make it as a pro. Big fortnight coming up. Crues on Tues, Crues on Sat and Linfield the Sat after.

Heard after the dc game with Ballymena there was players that had to be pulled apart from each other in the changing room.. Spike telling boys a few home truths. Gonna be an interesting summer regarding Ballymena and the blues in think. Maybe spike has been approached already for the Job ?!
Maccers, anytime I've seen Boyce he's been class, any time they have been on sky he's been very very good, surely there are a host of English and Scottish clubs after him ? What his fitness like ? He doesn't even look fully fit to me, so if that is the case imagine what he could be like. Too good for this league, as you say hopefully he gets another crack at pro level.

Burnley are the club I keep hearing mentioned. Re his fitness, he's still doing training full time. To look at him he looks heavy but when you see him going into shoulder charges etc you can see that he's rock solid. You'll often see him looking like he's lost control then he'll just lean on the defender and possession is back. He's quick as well. Certainly to look at he looks to be carrying a bit of extra weight but I don't think fitness is an issue.
