All the best to Broadway Celtic, just looked at the league, you guys are pretty similar to ourselves, went up last year as Champions, holding your own, played more games than the guys around us (Because we play at the showgrounds) got the points on the board, waiting to see what happens the teams who have games in hand. It is going good! you happy?

The pitch and facilities are top notch, there are no puddles on the pitch even after a load of rain. The lines are like trenches though! If you pass it over the top of the lines it takes a serious boble. Yeah its our first year up at the showgrounds, we were at Wakehurst last year, I wish we were still there to be honest, those pitches down there won't survive much longer, the less they are played on the better

why would you rather wakehurst??
ur right about the lines, IMO its only a matter of time before someone breaks an ankle on them.

I'm grew up around Wakehurst and live close by now, it was one of the reasons I joined Westend at the start of last season I love it when you go in at 9:15 and they have the music blaring up the corridor

Yeah forgot about the lines they are bad and they get worse come the summer time the only other critisim is the goalmouths.
Maybe its because the pitch's take so much abuse tho and never get time to recover as during the week they is school games on ours.
Anymore improvemnet at wakehurst rab since all the protests and that?

Anymore improvemnet at wakehurst rab since all the protests and that? www.ballymena.gov.uk/viewnews.asp?id=215The council have just finished a consultation on developing community and sport facilities in the Ballymena South area of the Borough. They are trying to put the upgrading of the pitches into a master plan which includes new changing facilities, a new community centre and a new super pitch with stadia and fence for wakehurst fc. In other words, instead of spending £0.5M they now are proposed to spend £3/4M in a recession, its just a smart way for them to definately not pay for anything! we just want the pitches sorted first, then if they have money they can do all their super facility stuff, but nope, they will turn around and say they cant afford to do the pitches because of all the other stuff, RATS!

Rab I've heard on good authority that they won't build anything on a "flood - plain " mate. Its the councils "get-out clause". Its a disgrace that Wakehurst won't be or may not be afforded the step up other facilities n areas are getting. Ballee thou

they weren't supposed to build that new building behind the phoenix either cause its a flood plain but look what happened. A complex half empty which causes muchos flooding in the area during monsoon season!
About the match, def will be different playing on a 4g pitch but can only try!

Next year it will be up in front of the councillors when they are allocating money to different departments. Everyone knows there will be cutbacks, so for them to go away and come up with a plan for super facilities when the guys that use it week in week out just want the cheapest option i.e. The pitches sorted, it is strange and we feel unrealistic in the current climate! We know what the council are like, we have been dealing with them for years, we are very very sceptical to say the least! They think they can promise us the world and it will keep us quiet and stop us protesting, time will tell

They needed a team out of Wakehurst, the pitches just can't cope anymore. The guys at Wakehurst knew I was the only one that cared about Wakehurst from our team, I made that clear to them myself, it was left that if a team was to move then it would be either Westend or blackstone, at that time blackstone didnt go to any meetings to do with the pitches, they just turned up and played, so we were put forward by the guys at Wakehurst to the council/BSML & a few months later we were at the showgrounds. We owe a lot to The guys involved with wakehurst for getting us on a really good pitch at the showgounds
