Massive police presence. Sky Blues had a lot of 'support'..must have been easily 150 on their line. Not too much trouble durin the game altho both sides had a man sent off. Saw a few scuffles startin to break out between supporters as i was leaving. Not good!

was good game not really that dirty whoever was shouting abuse wasnt involved with the blues never heard any secterian comments at all yea we had big support and sure yous did at home also all best for season and cup Are you deaf? I was on the opposite sideline and the Sectarian bile from some of that army of yellow f**kers was unreal. "go back to the South where you came from" and I lost count how many "fenian" names I heard. No one from the sideline had any control or even tried to. The only person from Sky Blues who said anything was Sammy Neil, the captain, who shouted at them all to f**k up when they were 'bravely' calling Smiley these names as he went to help Bucky, not to forget taking his picture on their phones and all. Must be gay!! Who needs a picture of Smiley FFS!!!! I'll tell you this, I'd be equally disgusted if this had been the other scenario at Dunfane at the previous meeting. All that because Sean punched someone. If that was me I'd be ashamed of myself if I needed an army to back me up because I got a punch on the barnet. Why did these hard men not fancy fighting man to man if they had a problem. Same old story, get the back up!!!! It happens on both sides of society but I can honestly say I haven't seen that type of scene in the BSML for years. And to think some of the Sky Blues camp had the brass neck to complain on here a few months back about the Homers sideline getting involved!!!! And Bruce pull your head out of your hole, everyone heard that s**te from your line!!!!!

In the last week or so Smiley has been playing for Dunloy, champion cheerleader for Broadway and physio for Northend. Probably be replacing Joe as chief water bottle filler at All Saints next

....LOL, I think Joe's legacy he had during Broadway's relegation season has now taken a firm hold of All Saints season. Maybe they'd be happy of the change!!! haha...

I was actually at this game for the first half and I was standing on the Northend side line.
Could not believe the police presence....never seen anything like that at a bsml game before. As sad as I am I roughly counted the people on the skyblue line and I counted over 200.
To be fair the game in the first half was cancelled out by each other and there was nothing serious on the pitch between the players. And if honest I did not hear a thing from the Skyblue side line (first half only).
I dont normally comment on this type of subject but I cannot condone any secterian comments from anyone. No room for them in football.
Fishter, I agree with your comments however when I was the RAFC manager and we played Northend at Dunfane (you were at the match shouting over to me...good craic) but because we were tanking Northend 4-0, Mr Smiley decided to shout secterian drivel at our line...and was not provoked in any way, so there are always people, supporters and players who for whatever reason think that they have a right to shout this type of crap and get away with it.

....yes Brem I actually remember that night, I think the first time we got a slegging at each other face to face (great craic). I actually remember Smiley shouting something, was it not at you personnally?? I remember him getting a lot of stick about it at the time as it was totally uncalled for. I agree, it's unacceptable no matter who's involved.
Last night in my eyes was a lot worse though. That crowd, for the most part, was there to cause bother. The abuse in the latter stages started to get out of hand. To be fair the earlier part was really more them just cheering when big Sean done something wrong. It defo could have spiralled out of control as a large section of that crowd were intent on it. I'll say it again, cowards!!!
Again, I would be totally opposed to it on any side and if my clubs 'supporters' gathered like that and tried to cause trouble of any kind myself and others with the club would be very quick to put a stop to it. In my opinion if you can't be man enough to slabber at someone on your own then you're a complete coward doing it just because your mates are behind you!!
Sammy Neil is someone I've had many a fight with on a football pitch years ago but I will say a big fair play to him last night for being the only one with the balls to say anything to them!!!!
The last time I seen anything like that was when we travelled to Ahoghill years ago to be met by a larger crowd again. Police everywhere. I will make it clear though it was nothing to do with the Ahoghill team at the time as the crowd were all the tubes from Ballymena out trying to start trouble. Big Gorum was too busy trying to keep my goals out of the net. Think he succeeded that day too!!! hahaha....
That carry on should be a thing of the past lads, and for the most part, it has been!!!!!

f**k sake I never expected to read all this when I came on to the thread. thought this nonsense had stopped. Reminds of of our early seasons in the BSML. When we played Inver for a first time there was a rather lager crowd gathered that evening than normal. In fact I dont think Larne FC were pulling crowds like what was there that night. Again like on here, those ballroots shouting and acting a cnut had f**k all to do with Inver. (Maybe we should have been thankfully to be graced with both the local UDA and UVF chiefs cheering on local soccer lol ;D) Theres f**k all need for any of that s**t at this level or any level to be fair. Its not nice and not needed and f**k wits standing shouting abuse and trying to intimadate players is uncalled for. As fish says, and I agree 100%, yellow cowardly Cnuts. Would s**te there pants if you asked them to go one on one. Im sure the police had better things to be doing than stand around an BSML game.

Standing on the line at a football match doesn't make you a supporter and i can honestly say that from the crowd there last night about 10 are there week in week out and the rest will probably not be seen again. Why there were there is up for debate but we have no control of who turns up and watches just like any other sat morning league team but i hope that they would be there for the right reasons.
As for any sectarian abuse I honestly didn't hear any (In nets of all places !!) but i was told that smiley got abuse when he came on the give some treatment. The person involved is in no way or shape anything to do with RSB and quite honestly probably wouldn't know if a football was pumped up or stuffed. He was told in no uncertain terms by numerous committee members to keep his comments to himself or feck off.
We all agree there is no place for it at any level and we certainly don't condone it but like i said before it wasn't a genuine supporter of our team.
As for the match itself i thought it was a hard, honest, tight game and apart from 1 fairly rash tackle from each team, that on another day probably wouldn't have been a red card, it was played in a good enough enough spirit. After the game the players and managers were able to shake each others hands and move on.
I hope we all agree that football should be just about that....football. all other s**t can stay were it deserves to be.
