There is no question about Carniny would have no problem taking the step up and bettering themselves, they have several players that are of irish league standard. If they are happy enough winning 3 or 4 trophies a season and have a great trophy history why leave the league?? Other teams have to try harder to overcome them and most teams think if they play Carniny is a matter of turning up and them walking all over them, majority of teams lie down against them, they can be beaten! as for ur linfield playing no catholics policy that was in the past they might have did it but there team now is around 60% catholic too many of u muppets live in the dark ages catch a grip!! Jabba we all know it was in the past and big DJ has changed that but the reason why it rumbled on way because jeff said this was never the case when everyone knew it was. On another note did anyone know Ihab Shoukri played for Cliftonville Strollers? It doesnt matter how many times you or Jabba or anyone else say it, it stil was never a club policy. I have put up proof from a Linfield chairman stating it was never the case. Noone has put up any shred of proof to suggest any different. Some boys need to wise up on here keep their silly wee prejudiced opinions to themselves (unless their are prepared to back them up with proof.) Id really rather not go down this road again so unless someone has some evidence that such a policy existed can we leave the unfounded allegations out and draw a line under this ?

I have put up proof from a Linfield chairman stating it was never the case. this is not proof. the linfield chairman is not an impartial source. he was at the heart of the policy. this is frying my pan in...

I am not saying it is conclusive proof but it is more than anyone else has been able to produce. Look at it like this ... If such a policy existed it would sugggest that the club would be, for want of a better word, proud of it. They would have no reason to deny that it existed that in itself would defeat the purpose of such a policy in that it would be an admittence that such a policy was wrong. If a club would entertain such a policy then they would have no problem admitting to it as they would not see that they were doing anything wrong. Secondly if such a policy existed surely there would be a host of players lining up to say I tried to sign for Linfield but they wouldnt sign me cuz i was a Catholic. Evidence would not be that hard to come by but yet for all the amount of people on here lining up to have a wee dig not one has put any proof up whatsoever. That in itself tells its own story. Someone show me some sort of proof that such a policy existed...please..

whats everyone having for dinner? Since you asked........... I was going to have potatoes as they are WHITE with some RED sauce and a steak cooked BLUE but then I thought that might cause an argument and make this thread (which has been pretty much all about "Dobbie for Glebe" apart from 10 pages or so where it digressed slightly ) go onto a different subject matter. So now i am going to add a bit of GREEN broccoli with some YELLOW sweetcorn and another dollop of WHITE potatoes just to keep the peace - wouldn't want anybody thinking we cant all get on. ;D ;D ;D Everybody be cool!!!!!

No lad cant really say I get that comparison right well its like 30 years ago or more when large companies such as NIE for example said they welcomed applications from roman catholics and threw them straight in the bin when they got them. it happened but they arnt going to admit that. I should know because a couple of my uncles got a job with them and the ratio was around 100-1 against catholics.........so its like Linfield didnt sign catholics, but they arnt going to admit it....Simples
