Yes I am aware of what it means. your arguement is hardly anti sectarian if you label a club as sectarian? I appreciate your sentiments may have been anti sectarian but you only proceeded in showing your prejudiced opinion of Linfield? Perhaps we should just agree to disagree rat, I know no such policy existed at Linfield you disagree we can leave it at that. its a well known fact linfield were an exclusive club for many years. same as another well known club,( no prizes for guessing the other club) . pull the wool over your own eyes lad but the rest of the country seen what was going on. ps. pure weaker calm down jeff sham ;D

carniny currently havent the facilities to step up any level, so they have to stay bsml, i dont no why people are saying that, does it not bring up the level of our league having them in it??

I think there's more football played in the Intermediate League. More of a battle in the BSML although there is a few teams who play good football and would hold there own in the Intermediate League.

yep for sure. carniny must be comfortable staying in div 1, maybe they couldnt face being a big fish in a massive pond. maybe theyr scared of failure ;D we are all starting 2 tink that. ;D Stinks of jealousy lads. Theres a lot of things that need to be considered before any team would remove themselves from a league and make the step up. First and foremost you need a team and if you have a group of guys who enjoy playing in the Ballymena area on a Saturday morning rather than playing further away in the afternoon which takes up the whole day they might be hard to persuade. Never mind the facilities issue and the cost involved in running it. Say what you want about Dobbie but he is committed (sometimes too much) and he wants guys round him who are equally as committed so while he and Carniny are "comfortable" in the BSML why would they move. Also I think to say that Carniny are that good implies that they just have to turn up to win. If you look at the table this season Carniny have to win 4 and draw 1 of their games in hand over Homers to be ahead - not easy when you are going to be playing so many games at the end of the season and even harder when every team wants to be the team that beats or takes points of Carniny. just my thoughts for what their worth.

Aptly put Header. Carniny are becoming victims of their own success this season for a few reasons i.e. every other team wants to be the one who beats them and they're facing a serious backlog of fixtures because of their good cup runs. I wouldn't say Carniny are "comfortable" in the BSML, they are where they are because of a tough training regime, and dedicated input from the manager and support team. Why would they want to move to another league just because they're champions of the BSML? I wonder if Homers, Saints or any other team were as successful would the same people who want Carniny to leave the league want them to leave too?

There is no question about Carniny would have no problem taking the step up and bettering themselves, they have several players that are of irish league standard. If they are happy enough winning 3 or 4 trophies a season and have a great trophy history why leave the league?? Other teams have to try harder to overcome them and most teams think if they play Carniny is a matter of turning up and them walking all over them, majority of teams lie down against them, they can be beaten!
as for ur linfield playing no catholics policy that was in the past they might have did it but there team now is around 60% catholic too many of u muppets live in the dark ages catch a grip!!

Couple of points just to clarify.
Shankly - I purposely put the "comfortable" in inverted comas as I feel a lot of people on here think that it is a walk in the park for Carniny to win things. I have sen first hand how hard and how seriously Dobbie takes training rain, hail, or shine it never stops and i feel that everything Carniny win is fully deserved (as of any team that wins anything in the BSML - but in particular the 1st div title).
Lenny - I know that the discussion was based on "should" they move to higher league but there appears to be a few on here slating them for not moving up and my points were only considerations about how hard it is to do what they are doing continuously at BSML level never mind attempting to do it at a higher level.
Big Jabba - my point was that i feel a lot of teams play better against Carniny than they possibly do against other teams because they really want to beat the top team and there is a bit of extra incentive there. Maybe I have misunderstood your statement below but I dont think there is a team that goes out waiting to get beaten by Carniny. (as I say I have maybe misunderstood what you are getting at!!
Other teams have to try harder to overcome them and most teams think if they play Carniny is a matter of turning up and them walking all over them, majority of teams lie down against them, they can be beaten!

Jabba we all know it was in the past and big DJ has changed that but the reason why it rumbled on way because jeff said this was never the case when everyone knew it was. On another note did anyone know Ihab Shoukri played for Cliftonville Strollers?
