Not opening this thread for people to hurl abuse at these wonderful officials but to ask a few questions
What does a ref get paid for a match in the BSML? How does a ref get affiliated with the league? Are there more refs than fixtures or would you be guaranteed a match each week?
And any of you f**kers who abuse me on here when I get me whistle are going straight in the book. Before the game.

Its usually around 30 tae 40 quid depending on travel! You'll always get a match if theres a full schedule and think you have to attend a one night course to start you off.Think it includes ,this is a football, this is a whistle, grab your peeler attitude on the way out ;D ;D ;D

Sure I know every decision made will be disliked by at least one team but I sort of like antagonising folk. Its in my nature.

One thing I've noticed is that in the majority of games in the afternoon we more often than not have seen a referee assessor present, something I don't think I've ever known on any bsml game I've been involved in

And also saw 3 different people on here say their official was shocking today then heard ones round home saying it about their amateur League games. So doesnt matter what I'm like. Will be called 5hit anyway. Gift of a job. Get called a cnut for 2 hours and charge the f**kers fortunes for the privilege.

Was talking to a few st comgalls lads today & they were less than impressed by their ref. He sent the keeper off after about 10 mins & they went on to lose 8-1. At least the ref apologised after for his mistake though. Lol.

DIV 1 at the very least i hope bap! Obviously... ;D ;D At the start I would expect to be/hope to be doing the 2 worst teams in the worst league in the country. Just for starters Then I fully expect as my reputation grows to be the blind cnut in black representing Norn Iron in the World Cup Finals in Qatar. I'll prob be the only man from here that makes it.

No way mate, I love it..... 1 and a half matches today..... had to abandon Linfield u16s v Glenavon u 16s at half time.... pitch turned into a wreck, 3 boys turned their ankles with noone near them.....every player and coach agreed to call off, except 1 mouth piece on Glenavon sideline...."people get injured every week".....there's always one!

Tough job being an oul ref. Comparing referees in our afternoon league to bsml - overall I've found them better. Alot of jobs worths among them right enough but generally 9 times out of 10 a ref would explain why he gave a decision - something bsml refs generally wouldn't do which in turns starts alot of yapping

Wee question for the refs on here...a cm gets the ball & tries a through ball which is going to a 5 yard offside striker. Our left back comes across & gets a toe on it to stop the ball going to him but knocks it into the path of an onside striker who runs in & scores. Now after a heated discussionthe ref- explains that as the ball never reached the striker who was offside he played on. Now how the hell was the offside striker not interfering with play? Our left back was forced to act to stop him getting the ball. Do you stand with your arm in the air & hope the ref gets the decision right or do you play to the whistle? Correct me if im wrong but once a player is forced to act to prevent the ball reaching someone, that is clearly interfering with play?

I refuse to put my professional credentials up for the scrutiny of the great uneducated on here without a video of the incident. Best Advice - dont play offside when theres no linesmen helping the ref.
