Im actually looking forward to seeing what squad will be selected for it and then watching them play! I can understand a few of the smaller associations being worried where this may go long term, but what an opportunity for players to compete in the Olympics and it would be hard for players to turn the call up down.
Hard to see what players from here will be involved though. Can't think of any players aged under 23 who would get in (maybe johnny Evans) so may include Stevie Davis or maybe even Lee camp as one of the 3 over 23 players to keep everybody happy.

heard davis being mentioned before, & to be honest, they are our 3 best players that should be involved.

Im the same mitty think it should be a good tournament if taken seriously and glad GB will be represented.

I'm not to sure. I don't think Ireland will enter a team....just like Britain haven't entered one for years.

Maybe there will be a euro team...Ireland could be involved with that. ;D

There is qualifying. Euro u21, world u20s etc are all qualifiers. I dont belive ROI have qualified. GB & NI never qualify either as there is no such team. In this case they automatically qualify as the hosts.

Neil Lennon confirms Scott Brown, Adam Matthews and James Forrest all received letters regarding their availability for team GB at the olympics
