Great news announced this week that the Milk Cup will be heading to our new pitch. Can't wait for it to be opened, it must be top notch. Lets just hope they've got the timing right or Man United's future generation could be running about the green grassy slopes ;D

Great news.
I would just love to see Man U v Aspire at the GGS arena for comedy value alone.
Great boost for the village. Was down at the facilities through the week. They are first class.

Cowboy will never stand for Man United to be playing in Clough, get the goalposts took down.
In all honesty it would be amazing to see the milk cup in Clough, after having a pitch for so long which is a laughing stock we will now have probably the best setup in the league and one of the best in the country.
I still maintain we should keep the old pitch for certain fixtures ;D

Great news for Clough that the milk cup will be there next year. Did Ahoghill make a bid to have it there?

cant comment on this issue ...... as a SDLP councillor said ... its a north coast event ... being ruined ... I'd agree with that, when i was younger the highlight of my summer was staying down at the caravan and going around the coleraine, castlerock, port areas to watch all the matches. It's not quite as good anymore now the finals have moved up to ballymena.

Ballymena, Clough, Brougshane is not that far from Ballymoney, Coleraine etc.
I just think with some cracking pitches about Ballymena and only 15 miles roughly further on why not use them.

I agree with goarm for once, think most people loved to go down to the port for a week and watch there kid play, the final at the showgrounds just isn't right imo.

Is the reason the Milk cup Finals are now in Ballymena not down to the simple reason Coleraine doesnt pass certain health and saftey rules??
Keeping the milk cup in the North coast was restricting the tournament..

Coleraine Showgrounds is a shambles. The main reason was due to it being well below standard. As the Ballymena Showgrounds has numerous changing rooms it means that each team has all the time and room they want to get ready for their match, whereas at Coleraine you had to wait for a team to leave the changing room after their final before you could go in.
Great to see this event making Clough.
