King Martin O'Neill is odds on to get it, i think this is a perfect job for him alot of players lacking in confidence and he is the ideal man to lift them.

Think you're right about that - a round peg for a round hole. Always talked about for all the big jobs but either those clubs dont fancy him or he hasnt the plums for a job at one of the giants. He'll do well. |

I dunno, i think certain people just see O'Neil as a man manager with very little tactical brain and thats why he has never got a huge job in England.
I'd love to see him get a big job(top 4) too but the longer he goes without managing the slimmer chance he has.
He has some CV as a manager.

I dunno, i think certain people just see O'Neil as a man manager with very little tactical brain and thats why he has never got a huge job in England. I'd love to see him get a big job(top 4) too but the longer he goes without managing the slimmer chance he has. He has some CV as a manager. O'Neills Cv - he won things in Scotland. We can write that off immediately. So did Souness. In England he won a few promotions like Warnock has. As for his League Cups, this was in an era when squads were not like they are now and the bug clubs really did not give a flying f**k about the competition. Look at the winning managers of the same period. Brian Little, Vialli, George Graham, Souness, Houllier, McClaren. A good but limited manager. Would not know what to do at a major club with a blank cheque book. |

I think he had lost the fans....and passionate fans they are so the chairman was always going to let him go when the fans turned on him. Pity as I like Bruce.....his sons a donkey though... ;D |

I know Bruce was gutted when he lost Bent as he was on fire up there and Gyan was just patheic for what he done. He paid decent money for Craig Gardner too who must be injured as he has't featured. Tbh i think it was the right decision from the board, get someone in now before Xmas who could change things in Jan and steady the ship. |
