very interesting read.......... our manager read out a few stats to us the other night, i honestly thought it was really good to hear some of the figures and it definately suprised some people......

I think some people can go overboard on stats, but imo if there's valuable information to be learned, it would be silly to ignore it.
Wee Jnr88 does some simple stats for our Gaelic team ... I'm pretty sure in most games there's a direct link between the number of turnovers / breaking ball won and the team that wins the game. So thats something we tried to focus on in training.

Good read that. On Revista De La Liga they were saying Pep Guardiola picks the side on stat's during the week no matter how they train. Energy levels, recovery levels from recent games and other stat's. I suppose if the manager can get an extra 5% from his players with these ideas then it's all worth it. I always remember big Sam loving his stat's, i think he had the vibrating plates on the side of the pitch for subs he was bringing on when he was at Bolton
