And for the record my uncle Jack took me to Windsor many years ago to Linfield v Flamengo in the Aul Kop.....and the abuse the Kop dished out was shocking ,to a young cub like me made me hate Linfield with a passion. But it was a cultural, old skool terrace thing......ignorant people spouting ignorant things....times have changed thou, people have aswell, some havnt n love to kick up that old dust !! Linfield will always be cnuts, times haven't changed that much

If I'm biting then so be it... What a load of ballax lenny, Ryan giggs play for England or choose his own country?..did he ever play in a major competition?? Give me one good reason why Gibson would go to ROI knowing he hasn't a chance of playing apart from having a political point of view? Forget about it junior were on different wavelength.. i thought i nearly read u compare england and wales to the same situation as northern ireland and Ireland..couldnt have though. Forgive me for thinking that your post spells out that there is a political issue as your saying that there is a difftence.

If I can with lennys humble intervention get the thread back on track..... I'd say Gerry is being quite a clever fellow and throwing it out there,as he tours schools and areas that we have seen a recent drain from. Its a discussion point in a complicated area, where the main point is FAI actively trying to poach IFA players -ie..Eunan and Shane...it gives him a great lever in his job and also in his goal to be the next manager.

True. Lucky we dont get into the cricket. Isnt there some guy who switches between Ireland and England depending on whether England need him. Lucky the North doesnt have a team or he could get wile confused.

Changing the national anthem will not change anybodys mind about attending or rearranging games, it will also not prevent players from jumping ship. So why change it at all.
I'm interested to here your opinion on it donko.

I'm interested to here your opinion on it donko. Even if they did decide to change it, which they won't, the fans will just sing GSTQ over the top of the new tune, causing even more controversy. Think Gerry Armstrong is doing the old politician trick and trying to court favour.

All qualified through the parent/ grandparent rule as far as I know. Whereby there parents were born in the country they represented. Maik Taylor has no parental or grand-parental connection to NI. He had a British passport and could choose any of the home-nations. John Barnes parents were born in Jamaica, as was he, he lived in England long enough to become a citizen, and then chose to play for England
