Rumor has it that a player with a disciplinary record that would shame Eric Cantona is on his way out of this club. Now when he isnt getting sent of he is a good player at the back-and yous could do with him at the minute.... ????

I'm sure the Swifties would appreciate a good fee as he is a genuine Swifts supporter and is taking a step down a level as Swifts are obviously east Antrims top junior club these days. Perhaps there has been a clash of personalities at Swifts?

Because they started a riot at a match in Clough and got us A fine for defending ourselves. We started the match with ten men and were winning two nil so out of nowhere a van load of boys arrives and come on the pitch and starts a row. Then in the return game we went to Carnlough and Glencloy had two players sent off and we won six one. Monty went to the match to observe to ensure no trouble. When we arrived thre was at least 100 people with hurley bats and the like trying to intimidate us. This has never been forgotten. So What are you implying Stoneyhillsheep?

Obviously as a Cloughdiehard you would have been at the game as a keen supporter. However as this happened many years ago when you were only about 12 or 13 perhaps your childhood memories are playing tricks with you. I remember the game at Potatofield Park well. It is wonderful that your sheltered farming life has kept you away from trouble spots like Belfast, Derry, Portadown and Lurgan, places that have seen fierce rioting over the years. As you are still a teenager, you may not have remembered the riots which took place in many parts of Ulster in the twentieth century. To describe that exagerrated event as a "riot" is laughable. If our supporters had started a riot in Clough, we would have had bother getting out of the village. As I recall, there were a few meaty challenges on the pitch and a bit of verbals between the players. Some of the Glencloy followers got involved in the verbals and two Clough players, one in particular got involved in exchanging threats with one of the Glencloy followers. The usual "I'll knock your bollix in" type of threat was made by both sides. As the Glencloy players got the offending supporters to back off and decent Clough players pulled back their culprits, the prat of a referee decided to abandon the match. The referee, who spent before the match chatting with his chums in the Clough dressing room, went back in to share a laugh with his pals after the game. Glencloy voiced their disgust at the antics of the referee but accepted the fine as there was little chance of success on appeal. As for the game in Carnlough. There has never been a crowd of over 100, even when Carnlough Utd were winning all their trophies in the early nineties. As for 100 people with hurley sticks(not bats), even if they gathered all of Glenarm hurling club's hurls, they couldn't muster anywhere near 100. There are always a couple of kids who play with hurls at home matches in Carnlough, but this is just for practicing at the side of the pitch. To say that they were deliberately trying to intimidate you is ridiculous. Glencloy Swifts have been on the receiving end of intimidation many times in places such as Cullybackey, Ballykeel and Larne, so I think your attempt to blacken Glencloy's name is despicable.

Maybe riot was the wrong term to use, row as I went onto use would have been better. Sorry i'm not that high up on hurling. There's is no need either to trade insults that I haven't experienced any rioting and my sheltered farming life. What the f**k, get a life. You can't defend anyone running onto a pitch and deliberately punching someone to the ground when they aren't involved playing in the match so that is totally ridiculous. Just incase you think thats a fabrication it was my brother who ended up with the severe black eye from a non player. As for the return game for you to say that there was maybe two kids with hurls is the biggest lie I have ever heard in my teenage lifetime as you reminded me of earlier.I don't have to blacken the name of Glencloy they have already done that in my mind and will never be forgiven by me or any1 at Clough Rangers. Obviously you have a difference in opinion in this matter so we will leave it at that. You still haven't answered my question. What were you trying to imply by saying isn't it obvious??
