Free kick for the 2nd goal, rab gave it too, was a poor decision. Keeper obviously should have done better from the free kick regardless

I'd agree with that, Roger turned it on in the second half, Sherman shouting at him probably got him going ;D Thought Carninys first was offside?( could be wrong though) Second was a horrible error from Studds. Studds is know for that mistake, i remember him doing it at Penarol years ago. Studdsy is without doubt one of the top 3 or 4 keepers in the BSML (though probably not just as good as Andy French or Brian Martin IMO). Like most of the rest of keepers in the league he has that odd mistake in him, so that, along with size of him obviously being a big disadvantage to him as well, probably held him back from playing at a higher level. |

homers have never replaced wee boomer Boomer was also guilty of a few clangers (as we all are lad) Studdsy has 10 to 15 years in him as a keeper!! |

Dragged the ball back, knew he had lost control of it and fell, knowing a challenge was coming. Happened right in front of me, was the way I saw it along with the folk round us. Only that the goal came from it no-one woulda thought any more of it. How'd Saints do tonight? |

Totally agree with ye there snout, no doubt he'll be of the best in BSML for the next year years. Think anybody who has ever done nets before felt for Studdsy with that one, easily done. |

Goram your never happy but we all know your anti carniny, fair play to ya, its all about opinions big fella, we will take your words on board mate and im sure we will get "lucky" with a few cups here n there.
On the game most of yous are right, lucky not to be out of the game at half time but came out the 2nd a little better and worked harder and i think we just took our chances when they came, hard luck homers, rainey was top class all nite n wee paul to tho silly tackle at the end, when them 2 to play well nobody can cope with them. About time we won that cup also.

Im gonna talk about some observations I made, I'm a neutral and watched it as a Westend man, thinking what it is we have to do to beat these guys
I thought the homers did really well the first half, they obviously had a game plan to empty carninys mo or rodger any chance they got and ricky forstyhe hit mo a rattle first half and he dissappeared for a good while, but both were left to it second half and they did a lot better. Dowie did well at holding the ball up as he always does dropping back with back to goal waiting on the wing men to help counter attack, something that worked a lot better 2nd half as homers midfield were blowing out their arse, but not much happened by way of shots for carniny who never really treatened at all first half & conceding from a set piece maybe shows they are vulnerable at set pieces. I thought Rainey played very well and had the better of hooks son was it? he seemed to get a lot of time on the ball, he let him play and was not physical at all, great in the air but let him have all the time in the world, alan likes to have that time and then turn you inside out, the sweeper Derek reid is a class act! he moped everything up and is so good at reading the game, top player! that tackle on him that your man got sent of for was one of the worst I have seen, he deserved to go and it showed a real lack of discipline yet again from the homers, something they really need to sort out. I Thought Rusty had a good game and ran the show back there for the homers, not so sure about Ricky, need to see a few more games. Carniny play a very fluid back line, they man mark and dont seem to have players who play set positions, same with eddie in midfield, his job is to follow sooty about and stop him feeding the homers strikers, so they rely very heavily on man marking or teams that play a system that can be easily read.
Homers should have scored 2/3 first half, their midfield showed their age second half and although foggy scored, he did not do much else. Carniny have superior fitness and youth. Homers have discipline issues, giving away stupid free kicks, though you'd think a free kick on the half way line would not end up directly in the net! Free kick was a dive by rodger though philip was over eager. Dowies last goal was a brilliant finish, no keeper was saving that. I enjoyed it, I've seen Carniny 3 times this year and they struggled for large periods in the first half, but they dont panic, let believe in themselves and always do better 2nd half
