Just to clarify that regretably Matt our manager has officially resigned his managers post with the club. A dispute in the changing rooms last week escalted over the last few days and has ultimately ended with matt making this decision. He had this post for approximately a year...
It has put a bit of a downer on a fantastic last season and so far steady start to the new season in the 2nd div...as we are now again going to have to look for a new manager, which is always a testing time for a club.
The main thing as was discussed last night at training is that the squad stick together which we are determined to do, as we all know the snakes in the grass will be out to try and disrupt any unity within the club. We have now established a good strong squad full of drive and determination to succeed, and within that squad some cracking individual players and young talent coming through which will ultimately see us threw this period.
Everybody within the club are still focused on our goals and ambitions which we hope to fufill this season, and then build again from there which we have continued to do over the last few years. Its a great club with huge potential and i have no doubt that a new manager will come in and drive it forward.
all the best Matt...you and the reds have had some good times... you have been a comitted servant to the club as player and manager.

Feck that. The forum is for a bit of craic and that is exactly what I'm doing. No one except the mods will tell me what I can and cannot post on here. Matt has decided to move and my post is simply asking if any names are in for the job with the light humour of the possiblity of a skyblue coach taking the job.

So who is in line for the job??? Quigggs? Any possibles junior? diff the important thing is to get tomorrows game over with first of all...we have then a two week break as northend have requested the fixture next week to be postponed which hopefully will give us time to get somebody else in. it will be a decision which will not be taken lightly as it is essential to get the right man for the job...take skyblues for example who are still recovering from the appointments of biggerstaff and quigs..."i told you so" comes to mind. other clubs making huge mistakes like this have learnt us that the seletion and end appointment is key to the success and future of the team.

Sorry to see Matt leave cos thought he would of enjoyed the good times ahead for the reds, but all the best to him all the same, as for the reds they will still do very well no matter who comes in they will have an easy job.
As for weedo doing it, i dont think he would have the time or would he want to do it, think hes happy enough playing, but i could be wrong.

Maybe i should be the one to "clarify". The decision to step down from the managers position at The Reds wasnt just made this week, it was made over the last few weeks!! I spoke to one of my close friends 3 weeks ago who has been a manager at this level to say that i was thinking of leaving. Outside of football the course i was doing has been neglected over the last 12 months, i havnt been back home in that time either. I can no longer commit the time and effort needed to fulfill the role. I'm not going to say what happened this week hasnt contributed to me leaving, BUT as i say its only speeded the process along, its NOT the only reason!! If it wasnt for my friendship with Ricky i propbably would have stepped down earlier. I'm still going to do some fundraising for the team, and i genuinely hope the team continues to flourish. Who knows what the future holds and i hope to get involved again in the future at some level. But for the time being its time to take a step back and let someone else take the reins. After being in charge i have nothing but respect for ANYONE who manages or helps run an amateur football club, a very difficult job. but ultimately a rewarding one at times. Cheers, Matt.

Very good post there Matt and very fair.Seems everyone has parted good on good terms at The Reds which sometimes doesnt happen when a manager or coach leaves.Im sure you'll get involved with the club at some level so all the best and hope Randalstown can get a replacement soon.

Matt i think you done a great job with the reds and you deserve all the credit you get, but reading this post my take on it is that you have been looking away for a while now and weedo is being used as a scapegoat as the final nail in the coffin for you. could you please "clarify" this for me?

Davy just let it be, Matt has said he was thinkin about leaving before all this happened with weedo, hes not blaming weedo or any1 for the reason he left so just leave it as it is.
