Can anyone tell me if they have had the problem I have been facing No matter what I do I seem to keep on pulling muscles as I try to get back into playing Doesnt matter how much I do in the gym I am runnin my balls off Probably doing too much too soon, but played indoor Monday night. Felt good. Bit stiff yesterday. Went again last night to the 4G stuff, and my hamstrings were aching. Spent the last 30mins in nets I am ready to retire. Seriously Any help or advice would be great

Doing too much Puggy, your body needs 24 hours to repair the damage you did in the first session.... your muscles were tired from the first night, that's why they went so quickly the 2nd. I bet you didn't hydrate enough before and after the 1st night as well.

I have been training away at the gym for a good while now, no problems.
I know twisting and turning and quick changes of pace (que the jokes) are much different than treadmill fitness, but flip me like
I was devastated last night, absolutely gutted
At my wits end. Really am

hard surfaces arnt doing u any favours for a start m8 Astro turf I reakon is a killer withough the proper footwear, but even with it, its still not a great surface at the forum.. Last night though I couldnt of had a better surface. The 4G or 3G or whatever its called at the Ballycraigy park is a great wee surface. Thinkin of just stickin to the gym n the circuit training and hanging the boots up and stop torturing myself

Likely 3 litres i would say I think your right in doing too much, but its soooo frustrating not having the game time fitness that everyone else has when at training. I feel like an absolute spare part. Tho hey, if the shoe fits

You'll be grand, just a setback, there are still 8 months of the season to go. Supposedly the pro's never work the same muscle group 2 days in a row. If you really knocked your pan in the 1st night then last night was your body telling you to chill. Best thing to do is 1 night weights, especially on your legs, next night cardiovascular and keep alternating.
f**k, don't listen to me, the only weights I was doing for the past years was carrying that belly around!

Keep the head up ally and only train when we are training and. Stop doing so much. And the warm down is a good idea.

Puggy all the muscle soreness is lactic acid, warm down and a cold bath will prevent this..
If you struggle with pulling muscles aswell, honestly you should be stretching flat out as much as possible.
Do you do weights in the gym??

Puggs me lad, even though yer a Rangers hurebeg I really feel for ye buddy. Been there so often and for so long mate....
It's no secret I was seriously overweight (I'm not sure on yer body fat situation..) from 2008 onwards. I was always part of the football teams though, trained regularly and even played. During the next few seasons I was plauged with injuries in me joints, shin splints etc....constant. If it wasn't one thing it was another. The main problem was the excess weight, killing ye when yer working and when yer in bad shape you tend to overdo the work too...adding even more pressure to yer body.
You're complaining about yer Hamstrings there, I'm now suffering a persistant strain there mesel. Problem is, apparently the only way you'll fix a Hamstring problem is to rest it...it can take months I'm told. You're jumping from one night to the other and most probably knocking yer balls in because you're so determined and straining it even more...I know, I'm doing it too LOL...
If yer overweight mate I honestly suggest joining Slimming World. Some people might tell ye it's not healthy to lose lots of weight too quickly but IMO get it aff no matter how. I joined it and don't have any problems being on it. First week I lost half a stone...incredible. I'd seriously recommend it. If you're anything like I WAS ( ;D) the weight problems absolutely ruin yer fitness. The more I lost the easier it all became. Ye wouldn't know me now!!! ;D

Dont think I have ever done tbh I was just gonna say to make sure for eg. if you weights on quads you must work out the hamstrings too, i made the mistake of doing alot of leg muscle weights one summer, but more or less just focused on my quads, and as a result they became over dominant and my hammys weakened. Every time i do spin class, i always do a run after just so both sets of muscles are getting worked. Wee things like this make ahuge difference, but no one tells ye this s**t until the damage is done.

Cheers Fishy
Weight would def of been an issue but I am already a stone n a half lighter than I was a year ago.
I'm still comind down and another stone is the target.
I know its pure lack of playing for the past few years, and trying to pick up where I left off is never going to happen, but its tough when the head is saying one thing and the legs are doing another.
Reakon i'm gonna leave it. There is only so many set backs someone can take.
The old ripped tight syndrome eh
