On the subject it looks like it's Northends to lose now for the first time this year. Fair play to them, you could see how much it meant on the line & a few boys kicked every single ball yesterday. The lad who i think is there manager was a nervous wreck. Know there's a bit of argument over things said but any of them i spoke to were 100% & i genuinely never heard anything untoward. The banter with the ref was hilarious too. As happy as I was with our performance & the win I also felt for Goram & the Thistle lads. The league was there for them all year & after the game & in the changing rooms you could see they were absolutely gutted. Gorams getting a lot of stick but he's been 100% with me. Anytime i've asked a question or needed help with something theres always been a pm straight away with whatever i'm looking for. Over 4 games against the 2 promoted clubs I'd of said first time round Ahoghill were a lot better. Hammered us 7-0 & could probably have been more. We drew with Northend a few weeks later & imo should have won the game. At that stage Ahoghill were miles ahead. Second time round however Northend were much the better side. Battered us 4-1 & again could have been more. This time round against Ahoghill we won 2-1 & i'd like to think we were worthy winners. Certainly created a hell of a lot of chances & if we'd have taken them could have won with a bit too spare. Think Ahoghill were a victim of circumstances yesterday & maybe panicked a bit early. At 1-0 down so early they were chasing the game & were lumping the ball in at every opportunity & apart from 1 or 2 scares we dealt with it quite well. Overall I'd find it hard to split the two from the 4 games as they each had a good & bad game against us but I'd definitely say nobody can suggest that either team didn't deserve to be promoted. Comfortably the best teams in div 2. Think fridays game will be superb & certainly think there's bragging rights up for grabs. All year Thistle had them & now it looks like they are going to Northend but whoever wins on Friday night will have the last laugh. Good luck to both sides for Friday and next year in Div 1. Think both can do ok in div 1. Both clubs seem to be well run & have very good players who can no doubt play & do well in the higher league. Ps Smiley's phone calls yesterday were hilarious after we went 1-0 up. He must have phoned about 10 people & every conversation was the same. "carnlough are 1-0 up" "no i swear to god they really are" "aye dead on sure i'll let you know if it changes". Lol excellent post although as you say with the thistle lads gutted at full time i don't know why the Northend manager decided to walk up to a bunch of lads that just missed there big chance hugging Carnlough lads shouting etc then on the pitch offering a handshake with a smile. If the shoe was on the other foot and say Northend lost to Dunloy and Goram came on the pitch i would have no doubt a few Northend lads would have him knocked out.Respect for keeping calm to the Thistle lads and respect to Smiley and the 1s that did enjoy it but left straight away not looking bother.I just hope these to good teams turn up Fri night to play good football and show us that they will be a handfull in the 1st as in my opinion the 2nd wasnt the hardest to go up in this year it has been a lot tougher in the past.Good luck Northend next game and Goodluck to both teams in the final :-)

2 excellent post. Maccers agree with you 100%, was a super battle yesterday and one were carnlough in the end deserved, and I do feel the occasion got to us. But we have a very very young team, av age prob about 24/25 we will hopefully learn a lot from this and come back bigger and better. Friday night will show what character we do have. As for NE, I do think some members are a little disrespectful on these forums, but with the fall outs that have happened throughout the year then that was maybe to be expected from both sides. I know a few of our players were upset with NE coming onto the pitch after the game as we were playing carnlough, not northend.. We shake the carnlough players hands and the refs, they felt the NE boys were rubbing it in a wee bit by offering their hands, ppl can think what they want of that. As for the shouting.. There was a little more than banter with the ref, but nothing we don't get anywhere else hope next week is another great game and one were we will get the result we want. Good luck on tues NE and hope use have terrible luck next Friday night ;D BAWA!!!

To be fair the NE manager's actions were possibly ill advised & i dont know the guy but i did hear him speak on the sideline & i genuinely don't think there was any malice. He spoke to his players about being respectful etc no matter how it ended up & shaking hands. The lad was absolutely full of emotion on our line & i dont think too many of the NE boys really thought we had any chance so emotions would no doubt have been high. Imo it was a misunderstanding, the NE manager i believe was genuine & Goram understandably thought he was looking to rub it in. To be honest at full time i went onto pitch to give the ref the flag & didnt really know what to do as i knew the thistle lads would be gutted but any i passed on the way shook hands & wished us luck in the playoffs. I purposely avoided the Thistle management team as I knew they'd be gutted & i was obviously delighted with our win & thought it best to give them a few moments but credit to them, the big lad who done the line came over & wished us luck in the playoffs & Goram done the same in the changing rooms.
Bale I honestly never heard the comment about breaking legs. No need for it at all though. I heard you getting a bit of abuse at the end to be fair when you were in the wall at a free kick. Never quite caught what was said though as I was abusing the ref for not sending you off. Lol.

Northend went down will sole intentions to watch a game of football, weather Thistle won lost or drew we as a club agreed if they clinch the title we woulda stayed and congratulated them. A few of us went and offered or commiserations to Ahoghill and although a few of them shook hands, (Bale, hammy, Danny Brown, and even Conkers) their manager didn't cover himself in glory. This season has been a long hard fought 1 and it has been a joy to be part of, IAH I would still be posting even if thistle had a won. correct . i wouldnt shake ur hand . why would i .... u shouted break his leg to a few of my players ......... ..... as much as i hate sum people . i wouldnt want to c any 1 in plaster .... why the f**k did u want to cum at the end and shake my hand . as usual trying to stir up tensions .... no wonder bc haunted u Wasnt me that shouted that, but Baldy thought it was me. Big man your were seen for what you are a sleeket big so and so, heard about your texts as well

Smiley, Bergoyne and Brady (as well as a few others) certainly major improvements to the squad... ...not that you don't know that!! ;D ;D ;D ;D brady too unfit , smiley no pace .... ;D ;D so db09 only 1 we need too watch ;D if he stays heard smiley and brady have told cut the bitching out , or its the exit door See if one of them got fit and the other got some pace they'd score a few goals alright

Good words. I heard you on the sideline & wouldn't believe for a minute there was any intention to rub it in. You kicked every ball on saturday & you could see what it meant to you's.
