And as I have explained to ye, you should choose yer opponents wisely. Surely Sexton would be a better bet and easier beat, he doesn't walk about with a redner all day for nothing ye know!! Looking forward to this though. What a stroke of luck Davy Brown meeting yer woman Pink in a hair extensions clinic in Belfast...must have made some impression!! ;D ;D |

I have to say anytime i watched Michelin i always thought Wiggys played well..... very classy player.
But i suppose big Sexton's goals got them to the first so for sure a tough choice!

Player of the year - Alan Craig Runner Up - Leroy Kennedy Player's Player of the Year - Alan Craig Runner Up - Stephen Sexton Best Newcomer - Neil Tully Top Goalscorer - Stephen Sexton Runner Up - Paul O'Neill Most Improved - Mark McKeown Clubman - Davy Brown 100 Appearences For Michelin - Froggy and Johnny Montgomery. I can't remember any others...plenty of drink already taken by that stage so could be wrong on one or two... Thought Sexton deserved more to be honest, I felt his contribution last season was the main factor in the promotion to Division One. Alan Craig a class act also!! |

Have to say too lads, I thought the dinner was fantastic as always with Charlie Havelin and his staff. Superb!!
The speeches from Froggy and Rab were fantastic also and plenty of thought went into the event.
Great night had by all!

Think I said at Christmas, and its the same now Sexy was our most important player because without his goals f**k knows where we wouldve ended up in the league - it wouldnt have been top 6 anyway. In saying that as I said at Christmas too, I thought Wiggsy probably just about edged Sexy to player of year as there was maybe only 2 or 3 games where Wiggsy didnt play well. Talking to Leroy last night as well and he basically said the same thing. Bit surprised at Mark McKeown getting most improved player as for the past 4 years hes always won either player of the year or players player of the year at the awards  I can only guess its due to his performances in the last 8 games of season after being dropped since Christmas when he came back into the team in April. Id say in those final games he was our best player throughout those games right through to the play off final. Good to see Tully getting his award too, hes been super since hes signed for us. Well deserved award for Davy Brown too, he puts in an unbelievable amount of work behind the scenes at Mich. I would say thats why IMO we are one of the top 3 or 4 best run clubs in all 3 divisons and im pleased its been recognised! Thanks to Frog for all the hard work hes put in for the past couple of seasons as well. |

You're right Mitts, sticking up for me old buddy as I know he reads these pages!! ;D ;D Wiggsy and Sexton were neck and neck for the awards no doubt, both had great seasons. Although I thought of all the new players, big Sexton certainly IMO had the biggest impact...by far. Tully had a good time out at Michelin this season too but he didn't make his first appearence for the club until he came off the bench in the 6-2 defeat to St Comgalls mid December. Sexton had already scored the guts of 20 goals for the club by then. That was more the point I was making... ;D ;D |
