this will be a hard game,blackstone a fit team and full of guts there a wee bit o history with the teams(nothing bad) so we no each other, its there first game in the second as it is ours :'(so i`m sure both teams will be very keen to get off to a good start, should be a good un |

A very hard fought 2 1 win for broadway but if blackstone had took there easy chances it would of been different. Alot of plus's Donald got a good shift in i thought fish done really well up front and worked his socks off. When niall came on he changed things why was he sub anyway? The defence was all over the place against the better sides youse will get severly punished imo 3 points to start anyway so well done |

Just the normal 4 4 2 They wont get away with the mistakes against better players blackstone missed about 3 one on ones. Quiet enough on the line and a good crowd down watching |

niall was sub cos he was working late, definitely made a difference when he came on, his pace will be a big thing for us thsi year!!
last year we would have lost that game, but last night we dug in and battled, yes we did give them alot of chances first half but thought second half we defended alot better (barring one chance they had) and looked more comfortable!! just great to get 3 points and as you say lenny playing bad and winning is a good thing!!

I think when we are all fully fit it will make a serious improvement to our play and cut out the sloppy mistakes!!!! I was gasping for air after 10 minutes ffs. Don't know how I made the 90!!!! Just keep working hard for each other lads and we'll get there!!!! Hail Hail!!!! |

maybe i am a bit biased pele, but in second half definitely thought we controlled the game alot more and never looked thretened except for the time your man tried to chip benny

Thought that wee effort at the start was heading in but the bar got in the way!!  My temper was a disgrace as well, getting thick with every challenge even though they were good at mixing it themselves but quick to shout at the ref for every touch on them!!!! Still, I need to knock it on the heed, starting to sound like Gordy shouting at folk!!! lol.... Big game tomorrow night away to Michelin. Need the same effort again and if Niall is tuned in from the start maybe we'll benefit from his pace early on and get a lead to then try to hold on to!!!! |

As for any tackles I didn't think there was much in any of them. The most annoying thing was loads of really cynical fouls/trips from behind when Blackstone players were breaking through. Maybe it something that has to be done but when after 3 or 4 the ref still not done anything about it that gets really frustrating/temper going.
Both teams fitness was poor but not the worst match for first game back. Like a lot of people said before it looks like being a very tight season with not much difference in the best/worst team in league.
Blackstone play Ahoghill tonight. Have no idea what they are like.

You just cant get away way missing 1 on 1's like that if youse had of scored the one when it was 1 each the game prob would of finished different. Defo could have went either way. Your strikers quilty of some serious missed chances. Ye can't afford to miss one on ones!!! I could see what he was trying to do with the chip. He'd already had our keeper make a few quality saves down low and if he had got a touch more height on the chip the keeper had no chance!!!! No doubt a very tough game, I'm still wrecked LOL, but a good way to start the season. Good luck for the season!!! |
