Smify, heard your pooch kicked the bucket, so on behalf of everyone at Enkalon I would like to offer our condolences. Hope this setback won't keep you outta the game for too long. Just remember the Enkalon motto, "you can never keep a good dog down!" (Oh s**t, excuse the pun!)

Enkalon fan - i think u were a bit premature about zippys dog - he is not dead yet. Has two tumours though so hopefully he will be going to doggy heaven pretty soon. Please dont aggrevate the situation any more though as zippy is very upset about this issue- i tried to console him last night after 20 pints - told him that i knew how he was feeling. My goldfish peggy died 2 years ago - i was heartbroken, but it got better after i battered her and had her with some chips - maybe you should try this option zippy? Plenty of salt and vinegar though - burnt dog hair isnt very tasty!

Abbeyview 1 Enkalon 4. This was another easy victory for Enkalon in this O'Kane cup quarter-final. Castletown and Masserene aside the standard in the 2nd and 3rd divisions is terrible. Is it just me or is the class gap getting bigger?

lets face it Enkalon were hardly showing their great skill in that game. They were gifted 3 goals by the view who seriously need to sort that defence out.
Sorry to say but I can't see them going all the way

Ok folks - this is where i come clean - If truth be told - Steeky Wilson is a great player-played alongside many a midfielder in my time but would have to say that he was the best. Fierce in the tackle, great passer, etc etc etc. His best quality though is that he a winner. You always need someone like that in any team. The only thing that baffled me when he was playing was that bloody cruyft turn he always did - everybody fell for it(except me in training!). O yeah-and another thing - how did he keep that one strand of hair from waving about in the wind? Must have been that special gel from theres something about Mary! ;D

They were a decent side Alex but after a shaky start we did'nt let them play. Overall I think we deserved to win the match but some seriously bad refereeing decisions went against and we ended up losing on pens. The referee was the jockey Willie Carson's stunt double!!

How many 2nd and 3rd division teams have you seen play Stevie? We beat Massarene comfortably last season by the way. We also held Harryville Homers to 1-1 up until the last 20 mins in a cup game earlier in the season. They scored a couple of late goals. I think we would give most first division teams a game bar maybe the top 4/5. There are at least 7 players who play for us who have played a decent amount of games in the 1st division.

Still not saying we're brilliant players. But then there aren't many in our league who can say they are.

Simon, I just know a few of the Antrim teams from the lower leagues. Masserene are a useful side with very good discipline.
The thing I find with most lower league teams is that although they have a few good individuals they never seem to play as a team. They are too quick to look for the killer ball instead of being patient and passing the ball a bit first. In the first division you cant keep giving the opposition the ball back all the time because sooner or later they will punish you.

Hey Simon - wot team do u play for? Is it Lisnafillan? If it is - u would not have a hope in hell of beating Masserene this season - they are on fire! Not that i am bias or anything! lol.

Fair enough, maybe they have alot of new players from last season or something.
I'll be bitterly disappointed if we don't go up to the 2nd this season. We have the players so as long as we keep goin the way we are we should stand a great chance.
Bad thing in our division is the lack of refs.

I'm afraid it dosnt get much better in the 2nd div with regard to refs simon - there were 3 games on at the antrim forum a few weeks ago with 3 of the teams fighting for promotion. No refs showed up for any of them! Shows you wot ur up against. Good luck though with the promotion chase - we have a good chance of going up ourselves - can only throw it away now really. Does big hightower play for u boys or is he still at penerol?

Hightower transferred to Penarol last season mate. Since then we've signed 4 Penarol players, all of them pretty good too. We'r like their feeder club and vice versa

Enkalonfan..... just wanted to reiterate your comments about Jeff "Lombardo" Johnston. In three season for Dublin Road Select he scored 91 goals in 119 league and cup games from 1990 to 1993. This was the first division. Frustrated the hell out of me sometimes but knew were the onion bag was..... great striker.

you can bet though bremner that it should have been about 150 in them 119 games!!! Scores bags of goals but could easily have scored a lot more!!!

Bremner you must be old if you can remember Jeff Johnston playing in 1990 and where do you get your stats? Think he's still playing and scoring. Do you get to use the internet everyday in that old people's home you're in? Zippy must be some player if he can find fault with those stats so we'll look forward to him receiving his top goalscorer trophy at the end of season presentation night.

Jurgen, I dont know what you consider old, but if your interested you can pop around to my old people home and count my trophies for me. I can assure you my stats are correct....to the game and the goal. Jurgen is obviously connected to Klinsmann.... Johnty is a Spurs supporter... any connection

Bremner, if Jurgen is connected to Klinsmann, then I could also support Monaco, Inter Milan or even Germany. I'll certainly call round to your old people's home and help you count your trophies (and cut up your meat whilst I'm there). I might even bring you round a few of my own. My God, it'll be like Aladdin's cave in that wee room of yours. If they'll let you out to the car park I'll even sprint you for a tenner! ;D
