Went up to watch this and would agree with Rab. Westend had enough chances to win 2 games but it just wasn't there day. Shore caught them with a sucker punch half way through the 2nd half.
Have no idea how the big lad Pierce number 10 stayed on the pitch. Blatant stamp on the Westend number 8. The ref actually saw it and decided it was only worth a yellow. That was a stonewall red, no doubt whatsoever, in fact if you done that to someone down the street you'd get locked up. Ref bottled it pure and simple.
Seems to be a different set of rules for Saturday morning league football from the proper rulebook. Someone will end up getting crippled due to referees not taking proper control of games and punishing actions like that properly.
Shore are a strong big side and can play a bit but think they'll struggle in the 1st division unless they make a few signings. Surprised that team tops the 2nd division TBH.

If we don't put our chances away, especially against the top sides, we can't blame anyone but ourselves.
Gutted as well.

Probably the poorest we have played football-wise, but we battled like mad for each other. Good to see us grind out a result when under performing

Yeah you have no one to blame but yourselves TBH. More than enough chances to win that game!

Pearse was kicked black and blue the whole match. The yellow card he got was deserved but no more than that. One of the Westend forwards ran 60 yards to confront Pearse and barged into him - is that any worse???
Westend are good footballing side and will be gutted about us taking all 3 points but we played better in 2nd half and will keep our feet on the ground and just take each game as it comes.

You need luck to win the league lads and fair play, you've had bucket loads of it

The only thing you did today was run the length of the pitch to get involved in something that was f**k all to do with you. Put you right off your game, you barely got a touch after that.

Very surprised that Watson was on right wing today for you boys, was looking forward to seeing him against Vinny and Browner in the middle

Kipper and Andy Kirkpatrick
The game wasn't won or lost playing mark on the right, it was lost with us missing easy chances

A wee shoulder charge is much worse than a player jumpin a foot in the air to stump on a guys ankle. Hmmm.......

Can't believe we didn't get something from the game, but as said here before we need to get straight back at it and get as many points on the board as possible. Who do we play next week?

the breakdown of the game is simple, shore had 2 chances and scored one of them, we have 6 good chances and didn't, that's the difference. Don't believe in any of that bad tackle s**t, it happens in football. Shore are a good side and despite the result (and my s**t finishing) it was actually good to play a match like that

Very surprised that Watson was on right wing today for you boys, was looking forward to seeing him against Vinny and Browner in the middle marks only back from injury and it was a bit of gamble him even playing yesterday. 2 lads in the middle have been playing there together since november and have been doing a good job for us

I think Westend will push for automatic promotion and have a great squad of players. If it comes to the worst then a decent play-off position and after playing nearly all teams in the 2nd division I would def. fancy their chances.
Would agree with Toffeeman about the match, wasn't a great match technically but was end to end and plenty of drama.
Good luck to Westend for rest of season.
