Lads, considering that ungrateful wee s**te Neil Tully got a thread for himself it's only fair that Broadway's Captain for a number of years now (with others standing in while he recovered from a serious leg break) got a mention as someone who has been the definition of the term "Broadway through and through".
Donald has been with Broadway around a decade now and from beginning life in BSML football he has worked hard to become the captain of the club he loves.
From the same era as myself (although I travelled a tad ;D) Donald started out as a striker, scoring once at Wakehurst one day against (I think) Woodside (probably his only goal LOL) and over the next few seasons tried out at Center Defense (pretty well) until he got the chance to try his hand at the position he wanted in the middle of the park. He hasn't looked back since.
He's had many offers over the years to join other clubs. I witnessed first hand Dessie Lemon arriving at his front door trying to land his signature for All Saints but that, amongst others, couldn't tempt him away.
I can honestly say when ye think of Broadway Celtic now ye think of Donald Crawford and it shows how much he's sweated blood for the green and white Hoops.
Obviously a lot of the reason for this thread is actually because I'm bored stiff having no one to talk to on this forum during it's closure BUT, the efforts and commitment to the Celts shown by the Club's Captain, I feel, certainly deserve a shout.
Hail Hail ;D
