Looked on the cards after the last month, Dowie even talking on here you could tell he was't happy at Ballymena.

yes lads im back.....give it ago up the road but was'nt good enough, i prob would of got a few sub appearances along the line but would of played most weeks 4 the reserves so decided to go back to carniny before it was too late.

Maybe a tad harsh to say you weren't good enough as I think it's obvious to everyone that you hardly got a chance to settle into the big step up (and it is a very big step IMO) never mind prove yourself!!!!

Great news for Carniny and I hope you get back to enjoying your football mate as that's what it's all about at the end of the day!!

Sounded a wee bit petty from BUFC, but sure every penny counts. Used to do a bit of coaching at BUYA, so still know a few boys around the place. Also told they were pretty disappointed to lose ye, though they probably understood it. Anyway good luck and as fish says fair play for having a crack at it, plenty of boys in BSML talk about how they could play higher but dont have the balls to try, so fair doo's to ye for giving it a go.

lads , walker is a prick .. hes using locals 2 get a crowd at the games .... he brings in a bshane lad,rtown lad ,clough lad and 2 towneys .... all there mates want 2 go and c there mate play at bmena . ... i tink they were using them locals 2 draw a crowd up .... lads tink about it ... dowie,gage,surgie and mo are great players ,, tho at the wrong club ... time for walker 2 go and that dick smith

started off that way, though as dowie says he's not getting much game time atm as murray has been unbelievable. Im sure Mo will be a success there

Think your being a bit harsh there Duck I said this a year ago, BUFC have very little money to play around with, therefore they have to look at youth players and local players. Surgy and Denver are big 1st team players now, Mo's in and around the squad and Dowie could maybe have had a chance. I dont know exactly what wages players are on, but most wouldnt be on big money. Im good friends with Eamon Murrays brother and he certainly aint there for the wages.

Meant to say on my first post totally agree with Smith, im sure he's getting a nice we wage plus he looks and acts like a prick. Im sure theres something good about him.... Dowie u'll have to help us out on this one not so sure about mccutchon, theres a touch of class about him and wouldnt think he's on massive wages. To show what wages they were paying before, rumours are Weedo/Watson, took a half cut in his wages to sign a new contract as no other club would pay what he was on, including the Blues.

For me Dowie is the best player I have seen playing in the bsml. Played for me for a couple of seasons and wasnt fit and had the wrong attitude.

I have no doubt he has the skill to compete at the highest stage of norn iron football, but if he really wanted it, then he would suceed. Very easy to go back to Carniny and score 80 goals or whatever he scored. For me, he should stick it out til the end of the season and then assess what to do.

I know hes not 20, its all about attitude, thats what makes people big success stories.

Think you're missing the point there Duck. You say Walker is "using" the local lads to bring in the crowds. If you ask me fair play to him for doing so. Name me the last manager that gave so many young local guys a run in the first team. If memory serves me right we are going back as far as Jim hagan/Alan Fraser days when local guys got a chance. And remember if Walker is just out to put locals in the Ballymena first team he is going to look pretty stupid if he doesnt pick the right ones to play but so far in my opinion there hasnt been one signing that has been a disaster. OK chris and Roger didnt maybe get a fair crack at it but I dont think anybody would argue that they deserved to be asked to Ballymena based on their performances in the BSML last season.

Also having spoken to Walker many times I can only take what he says as true and he admitted to me that he only wanted guys who wanted to play for the club no matter what. Thats why Kelbie isnt there anymore because he wanted the money more than he wanted to play for Ballymena. I also know of a couple of players who were asked if they wanted to play for the club and in the end took pay cuts to play for Ballymena. Good on Roy for standing his ground and trying to make Ballymena a profitable business that can be enjoyed by local people seeing local footballers doing well rather than taking all that is available to him and chucking it out the window on guys who only care about their petrol expenses and where their money is.
