Another tough game this wk away to galgorm. Don't know much about them but its another top of the table clash for us as we played cloughmills then Connor in the cup so its been a tough few wks for the reds. Everybody available and up for it though so hopefully we can keep this run going. Also a new keeper on show, as john Scott had to pack it in due to work commitments. One out another one in, reds seem to be able to attract the players at the minute in randalstown.

i watched them against woodside last week, thought woodside were unlucky not to get a point, scored a perfectly good goal near the end that was disallowed for sum reason. They have a few good players but i'd say you's will win

good result for us, were very good in spells then, fell asleep just after half time and let them back in, i no im starting to sound like a broken record, but least said about the ref the day the best!! first question he asked us was is this a league game, then cos his top clashed with our keepers he changed into a black one, we were wearing a black kit! ;D good luck to galgorm for the season , good bunch of lads ,and they'll do well!

Randalstown FC continued their good start to the season with another comfortable win against one of their rivals, Galgorm FC, in this top of the table clash on a superb pitch at Galgorm.
Randalstown started the game with a high tempo and were creating several chances with the dynamic front pairing of Gareth Mott and John Kitson causing problems for the home defence. With 20 mins gone Robin Neill put the visitors in front with a well taken strike from 20 yards after a fine run. The Randalstown midfield of Neill, David Waddell, Barry Mott and Andy Higham were now well in control and providing great service to the strikers with the Galgorm keeper producing several good saves to keep the score at 1-0.
Galgorm started to get back into the game creating a few corners and came close with a strike inside the area. However shortly before half time John Kitson scored after tirelessly beating 2 defenders inside the area and firing an unstoppable shot into the net to make it 2-0.
Straight from the start of the 2nd half Galgorm made their intentions known with 2 quick goals from a penalty and long free kick to draw level inside 5 mins. This seemed to kickstart Randalstown who regained the lead shortly after with a goal from 20 yards by Barry Mott. Gareth Mott then scored a fine individual goal to restore Randalstown’s 2 goal advantage. This seemed to settle the visitors who were now back in control and creating more chances with the adventurous left back Stephen Hutchinson coming close with a great run.
Robin Neill then grabbed his second of the game to make it 5-2 and although Galgorm pulled back another goal after some sloppy defending the game was effectively over. After some great saves by the Galgorm keeper Gareth Mott then grabbed his second of the match with a powerful strike into the roof of the net after beating two defenders. With the score at 6-3 the game petered out and the debutant Randalstown keeper Neil Campton made a superb stop in the dying minutes to deny Galgorm another goal. This win now lifts Randalstown into second place in the table and back into contention.

3rd div cup 1st leg
Galgorm 1-4 Randalstown fc
Weedo (pen) Mott Kitty 2
Scrappy game today, match just seemed to pass by without any real incident or talking points. Kitty got brought down by the keeper after a threw ball by mott and weedo converted the penalty. One nil at half time and not very pritty with both teams giving away possession and very lackluster. Second half we scored three quick goals firstly by mott who turned well on edge of area and finished well. Few mins later we got a corner which kitty met well on the head looping it over the keeper. Shortly after a mix up between galgorms keeper and centre half which lead to kitty sliding in and poking the ball home. Galgorm scored late on with a shot from edge of area.
Hopefully this result will be enough to see us through to the semis with a home leg still to play. Good luck to galgorm until we meet again, good bunch of lads. Wee rab wright can still pull the strings in centre midfield.
