Great turnout tonight at training with 20 down including one sky blue player who comes down as he says or training is better. Big squad means competition for places and hopefully two more signings to come with weedo and myself working behind the scenes trying to strengthen the team.
Cloughmills away on sat, will be a tough game as they are up round the top of the league. Everybody is up for it and hopefully come home with the three points.

Junior just out of curiousity, why did all use boys leave Sky blues? You seem to have a wee bit of hostility towards them, why's that?

Cloughmills Thistle 2 – 7 Randalstown FC
Randalstown FC, wearing their new away kit, secured all 3 points in this top of the table encounter away to Cloughmills Thistle with a comfortable performance courtesy of a superb hatrick from their right back Stevie Dripps !
The game started off slowly for both teams with few real chances but with 15 minutes gone a long throw in from Cloughmills wasn’t properly dealt with and Cloughmills scored from close range in the ensuing confusion. This seemed to spur on Randalstown and they started creating chances with the front pairing of Gareth Mott and John Kitson looking very dangerous.
Within 5 minutes Randalstown drew level with a powerful Andy Higham strike. Shortly after Randalstown went ahead with a free kick from the halfway line by Stevie Dripps that somehow fooled the keeper. Randalstown were now well on top and their 3rd goal came after good work by midfielders David Waddell and Barry Mott let Robin Neill in who made no mistake to score from 10 yards. Shortly before half time the constant Randalstown pressure paid off when Stevie Dripps grabbed his second with a wonderful overhead kick which the keeper could not hold.
The second half started with a more determined Cloughmills performance who started to cause problems with the running of their midfielders. For 20 minutes the game was a tight affair with few real chances but Cloughmills reduced the deficit when the ball was not cleared properly and a superb strike from 25 yards beat John Scott in the Randalstown nets and flew into the top corner. Randalstown responded well and Davy Reid went close with a few headers from corners. Cloughmills were also threatening but could not create any real opportunites due to some great defending by Stephen Hutchinson and Ricky Ewart.
With 20 minutes left Stevie Dripps essentially finished the game when he grabbed his third with another exquisite overhead kick from 15 yards out that powered into the top corner – a goal even Berbatov would be proud of !! Cloughmills were now broken and Randalstown were creating numerous chances with John Kitson and Gareth Mott each scoring in the final 10 minutes to seal another great win for Randalstown FC who now move up to second in the table.
