f**k the GAA. If that had been an IPL or LOI soccer match it would be front page news as holigans going on a ramage etc etc. Yet the GAA as a sport shows its thuggery element again, and no doubt will be brushed under the carpet again.
I could never understand why a lot of the true soccer fans from "down below" dislike the GAA, until the last Shamrock Rovers game I was at not to long ago.

Front page of every newspaper? Wouldnt have thought so. And it rears its head more than once in a blue moon. Chill out you maniac. Sorry if I hate a nerve, but no great love for the GAA. Maybe thats cause there isnt much GAA interest down here for obvious reasons. lol

I could never understand why a lot of the true soccer fans from "down below" dislike the GAA, until the last Shamrock Rovers game I was at not to long ago. Catch yourself on. If you did any sort of investigating before posting this ill-informed rubbish you would find out that this is an isolated incident, and has been widely condemned by everyone within the GAA. Also, the GAA immediately came out and said they will be working with An Garda Siochana to make sure that those involved would be identified, banned from GAA events and brought to justice. With regard to the fans, you have to remember that Louth were on the verge of their first provincial title in 53 years. The Louth fans were there to support their fellow Louth men, their neighbours, their children's school teachers, their postmen, their tradesmen, the friends they grew up with and most importantly their local club men. I know how gutted and frustrated I'd be if this happened to Antrim. While the behaviour of a very small percentage of 'fans' is completely inexcusable, you have to realise what the GAA is about and how much this error from the referee has cost them. With regard to newspaper coverage, you've just shown your own ignorance there. Furthermore, I think you'll find that the only time GAA makes the back (or front) pages of a lot of newspapers in this part of the Country is when there is a bit of scandal! And we'll not even get into comparing to the number of 'hooligan fan' incidents between soccer and GAA events ...

I've no doubt that no matter what kinda poor decision was made by the ref that there's no need for him to get clocked !! And yeah in every sport there's assholes that bring their code down and that's to be criticised at every opportunity and not to be swept under the carpet. The more public furore the better,it hits any sport where it hurts n that's in their paydays. That way they take control n get their house in order !! Phew !!wee rant over
