Did I read it correctly that there were 5 players sent off in your match against Riverdale? What on earth was going on? We are due to play them next week.

Yes we had one sent off in the 1st half - probably deserved but both parties involved should have walked.
Then in the 2nd half a big rough tough Riverdalian decided to fight the smallest player on our team. Then was chased 70 odd yards and received a justified biff or two from our centre half. The ensuing chaos ended with 4 being sent off though it could have been more.
Though there was hardly a bad tackle in the game and the last mins were spent with the Riverdale players laughing about their mate running for his life.

Sounds like carnage! What is the craic with red cards - is a suspension immediate or do you have to wait until after the next league meeting? How many games do you normally miss for a straight red?

We had few playing that day that, to be honest, team mates and all that, I wouldnt have started a row against. Apparantly the old regligion s**t came into it from the Riverdale line, but f**k sake were from Larne, its nothing we have never heard before, but why shout keek like that on a football pitch, its neither going to free Ireland or strengthen the ties with Britain.  |

I thought I saw trouble kicking off in the car park.  No, the shepherds hook was sent for me after about 60 mins so I was away having a wee wash at the time of crisis. Came out to see the end of the melee and there's no point getting your jeans dirty falling down that hill outside the changing rooms. |

I would love to have been there. had I not been in the thick of it, it certainly would have been a monent for the camera and you tube lol.

Wardy at Welly Rec, played against us in JS for their reserves (was a sub). Super player.
Which Kane? Father/son(s). Mower may correct me but one, possibly both are at LTOB as far as I know.

Leslie Stephens is our gaffer now.....helped out by Alec Mc keown.
Wardy is at Welly Rec IIs
Kieran Kane and his brother Ryan are at the LTOB. I think there dad may help out the odd time at training. Not to sure.

As a 15-20 year amateur league veteran and recent recruit to BSML, a higher standard of football, better pitches, better referees would be an obvious response.
