worst mate ever.. he was sleggin my forehead there a few days ago, pure animal! (LMAO!!!! ) Yes Lenny, allow me to apologise for what I thought was some light hearted banter in your general direction. I never invisaged for a second that my actions could be sooo offensive. For the record can I state that I actually admire your rather impressive dome. I promise not to offend you or your head again and will never again call you Big Ben because your boat has enough room for more than one face...... ;D hahahaha, big ben isnt bad..though 'MOONHEAD' seems to have stuck.

I think Fish already said earlier in the thread that Lesley knew he couldt play when he resigned but played anyway.
I remember a few years back abbey villa beat us in the last 16 they played a ringer but were in the semis at the stage it was found out so the other semis just went through to the final.
I take it Carniny will just be threw out if its proved to be correct?

from what I heard from a couple Carniny players, winning one if not both cups were Dobbies main aims this year rather than the 'local' trophies, so could be a massive error of their part.

To be fair to Dobbie and Carniny I was told it was his idea to come clean about it, Crumlin Star knew nothing about it until he rang them. He then went to the IFA himself and explained what had happened, Crumlin hadn't a protest in (I assume they were going to right enough) so maybe that could work in Carniny's favour, but who knows! As i say that could be wrong but its what I was told!
Be a kick in the teeth for Carniny if they did get kicked out over this, but if they've broken the rules then its only fair i guess!

yip think dobbie brought the matter up to the ifa, although i think its a grey area and surprise surprise the ifa dont no the rules!!!! it says nothing about re-sign before 31 dec, just has to be signed for club before that date for those trophies and surely he was when he signed in the summer??!!
also dont think crumlin would protest not when they have players who played more than 15 irish league games in last few years, also making them unavailable for competition.

Maybe someone on here can point to which rule Carniny have broken.
Did Leslie register for the Junior Cup and Shield as a Carniny player at the start of the season?
Answer - Yes.
Did he play for any other club in any of those two competitions?
Answer - No.
Was he registered to play for Carniny under the rules of the local league, the BSML?
Answer - Yes.
Did Crumlin Star put in a protest within the 48 hour stipulation as laid down by the IFA rule book?
Answer - No.
There is no rule to state that you cannot play for another club inside your local league and go back to play for your original club in the Junior Cup. The 31st January rule is for players who have not registered with that club until that time. Leslie had played for Carniny in previous rounds and no-one else, so it seems there is no rule to cover it, therefore the IFA cannot act. Carniny just want clarification from the IFA for future reference as to Leslie's eligibilty in case of any possible protests from teams that may or may not be informed of the situation by unknown persons.

I think its pretty much self explanatory goram if you read the post. I do not think Carniny have done anything wrong. Its sad that so many would want to see a BSML club fail at this stage in the competition in this manor. I suppose its to be expected jealousy is a terible thing.
Good luck to carniny i hope they win both

The way Dobbie has handled the situation is a mark of how well the club is run.
