Another home game against a Thistle side who have been defeated in there last two games but anything can happen on the day. Rangers will be looking nothin less than 3 points from this game as there trying to confirm a Play Off spot. Hopefully the pitch will be cut and rolled for this game as it was shocking on Wednesday Nights game against Clough!!

Connor Rangers 3-2 Cloughmills Thistle
This game was certainly dominated by Rangers although Thistle had a 10 minute spell in the second half which they pinned Rangers back in there own half.
Rangers started very brightly catching the Thistle defence out several times with through balls but to our disappointment the chances were wasted. Rangers kepted missing chance after chance but on the half hour mark a ball played across the box was fired home by Ally Logan. After this Cloughmills had a few long range shots which never troubled the Rangers keeper. Rangers was still missing chances at the other end but it was 5 minutes from the break when Paul McGovern made a fantastic run from the Half way line to see his shot fired into the bottom corner and send Rangers into the break at 2-0.
The second half was more of the same with Rangers missing chances but would soon pay half way through the half when Thistle were awarded a Penalty and there man made no mistake from the spot. Thistle then had Rangers pinned right back into there half and as the Rangers defender cleared the ball it was brought down on a Thistle players chest who rifled one from 25 yards out into the top corner and make it 2-2. Rangers were then feeling the pressure as the game opened up in the last 10 mins and Sammy McVicker saw a cracking free kick come off the post. But with 2 minutes remaining Eddie Reid recieved the ball at the edge of the Thistle box and hit a sweet strike into the bottom corner to give Rangers the 3 points they needed.
No disrespect to Thistle but Rangers should of won the game into double figures!! All credit to Thistle for battling back from 2-0 down but on the day Rangers certainly deserved the 3 points.
