In sayin that, your right. Its all come to nothing, but there are scores of players out there who have been in the same boat.
Just one of them things.

I think its more to do with the pish infrastructure the FA has set up over here.
Its great for a young lad now. But before there wasnt as many coaching and development areas.

It's picking up but, Lisbon Lion's a coach now with badges degrees the heap. This place is on the up!!! lol.... Agree with Puggs, better to have had a go than to just imagine what it would be like. Fair f**ks sham. One question though, how did a bench warmer get players player of the year? lol....

Dunno, its much better these days like.
There have been so many super players over here that i have known, who have had the ability to make it across the water, that didn't.
Thats one of the reasons i am going down the coaching road, and going to scout. To try and give young players who have the ability the opportunity.
I know there are other members, who have also had the same opportunities. The only thing is its like a one chance to impress, and if your injured, or if you have a bad game, or anything like that. Its tuff s**t.
Just the way it is.
I agree with you in that instance. Maybe if there was a better structure with the english clubs for boys over here coming over. Say something like when they decide to take you over if they give you a couple of weeks trial. Like one week at one stage of the year, and then another week a different time, so that you can give a better account of yourself when your there.
Nerves have a big part to play too, as players from over here are always, or near always daunted by the prospect of going across the water. Esp to big clubs.
Just my opinion but

Youp youp the lion, have to say that over in Scotland they treat the players they bring over on trial for better, having spoke with one of the new young lads with Celtic they put him up for a month with trials, accomodation and flew him home at weekends when he needed to go home!! But as people say in England cause they have far more talent then if the lad doesnt do it after one trial then he has more or less blew his chance!!

Its a sad but very true situation. Celtic as much as I hate them, are renowned for treating their trialists well
