Think you will find it hard Pugsy getting anyone from Ballymena area anyway as ballymena Youth Academy and Carniny Youth have more or less the coaching side of things rapped up in Ballymena mate, unless most of them are coming from Randalstown or Antrim direction mate!!
Still good to see programmes like this happening anyway mate!! Hope it all goes well for you, maybe you will un-earth the next Neil Lennon you never know!!

Cheers for the info Lion lad. And fishy of course, everyone is welcome. Ya never know I might uncover the next Neil Lennon. But he'll probably end up at Randalstown Athletic, rather than a big club like Celtic, cant see 2 players with no ability managing to make the big time lol ;D ;D Ya have til love it ;D ;D I'm hoping to get 18-20 kids for this first course. I'm aware that there are big boys clubs all over the country, so there if defo competition. My boss's son plays for Cookstown Youth, and they even have it going on, though he's going to attend mine too Its my first course, so hopefully ti will go well. Fingers crossed.

Who is the course through Pugsy is it the IFA or something?? Yeah Cooksotwn have a big set-up now as well, i think they have some sort of new premises and new pitch which is suppose to be unreal to play on, as our u-13 team played them last week in the N. Ireland Boys Cup!!

Its my own course mate, i'm an approved coach, have done my UEFA B licence through the IFA. So it will be very similar to theirs.
Like I say its my first one, so i'm hoping to get a decent number, and all being well there will be many more. And not just in Antrim.

I coach with Carniny so thats how i know about various coaching courses on, i get pissed off with the IFA, they always run courses on bad times like round Easter or that coaching week in July, who the hell is going to get a full week off to do UEFA badges etc!! Thats the next one i have to go on to my UEFA B!! Its a nightmare trying to get it done when a date suits me!!

Did any of our managers on here get a proper coaching badge, or just take management of the club due to long lasting connections in the BSML or the club they are at?

Good question MJ, not sure of the answer though.
When I took over Templapatrick i was only 18. I took it on as the manager lo longer wanted to do it. Although in sayin that, I was only happy to.
I'd say that would be the case for a few current BSML managers

The artificial pitch u are talking about in cookstown is pretty crap. I've played on it a couple o times and its s**t in my opinion. Extremely bouncy and in windy conditions its extremely difficult to play on. looks good and is good as far as never having matches called off, not good to play on.

I'd say that would be the case for a few current BSML managers thanks, was just wandering after my uncle made a comment to me a month back when i said i was thinking of joining a randalstown team, he was surprised, said he thought i would be great at the managing side of the game, which is true, i do love the tactical side of the game, and have always found myself addicted to manager games lol

whell it would be a massive place to take, esspecially with him bullying people, he may threaten the players into leaving the club with him. I would have my own team to rebuild though lol
