thought carniny just shaded it, prob had the better chances , how come you never got a game lenny?? dont know about shading it, but they had the more chances, we just lacked the cutting edge up front, which was a shame because the central defence for carniny was slow, and had our main striker have been there we would have taken advantage of it. in hindsight we prob should have started bugsy our crilly instead of me, cos their pace caused problems when they came on. penalty was terrible decision, it was hit at him from about a yard and his hands were by his side. Though to the neutral i'd say it was a good game to watch, especially second half and extra time. The game was played in a very good spirit with neither team getting involved in any bickering or foul play. It was great to see both teams congratulate each other on the game, the only person that came out of the thing with discredit to his name was the carniny manager, dobie, wouldnt shake hands with any of our players, disgrace if you ask me, no idea what his problem is. Other than that, both teams have huge respect for each other, roll on next season.

Two fittest teams in the league by a distance.
Very Very good game played in a sporting manner and refereeed well.
2nd half onwards, good advert for BSML.
Stand out players for me were, All Saints left back and No 8. Del and big J for Carniny

yeah, agree with you there harty, i think our left back(he is thorny on this forum by the way) was the best player on the park, never gave his man a sniff all day. big jason is always dangerous, though all things considered i thought he was marshalled pretty well, always scared of him doing something special though, great player. was it del that got their first goal? great finish for it, controlled it well, didnt rush it and a super finish. referee was good indeed, although i thought he was a bit harsh with the peno, it was ball to hand, great save from tim though. penos are a flick of the coin and its horrible to lose out to them. but to be fair i think it was the best way to decide this final, as neither team deserved to lose in normal/extra time. and although we ended up losing out in the shootout, we still dont feel like losers.

big paddy logan missed with the first, and peter mccann (our family have now disowned him) missed the second, thought big alex got a great hand on his peno though, it was well struck, though he did admit he was trying to put it in the bottom left!!!
marcus defo kept aaron quiet, not an easy task either, having me up front and kendawg who was struggling with fitness played into gaz and craigers hands, cos they are slow and could have been exploited with faster players on. hindsight is a wonderful thing though, and the pair of them were solid in defence. Paddy had a great game too, so it was a pity for him to miss the peno, he is usually deadly with his penos too.

and had our main striker have been there we would have taken advantage of it. Of course had Roger Jones not been on holiday and Mo McDowell not been injured, we'd have taken advantage of that too. With their pace we'd have put your defence under more pressure as well. But we re-arranged the team and had to play some guys out of position, but the side that played for us on Friday night done Carniny proud by coming back in extra time when other teams would have given up.

Although the first half was a bit of a cagey affair it turned out to be a tense but entertaining game. Pity it had to be settled via the lottery, but a good final none the less.
Is it just me, or did anyone else think the ref had a stinker? A few dodgey decisions.

i think hes the best ref in the league by a mile..
the linesmen for me were very poor, getting easy decisions wrong all night.

Probably right Lenny, Rab is usually pretty good. Maybe it was the linesmen who had an influence.

Its the old Carlsberg cup, be nice to be the last winners of the Carlsberg cup and first winners of the Rainey cup, though its gonna be tough as f**k, the boys are running on empty at the minute, and we have picked up a lot of injuries.
