this is a big game lads, wakehurst are a good side, but when we are at our best we would give alot of teams a run for their money. i hope its still on there has been a good bit of rain today.

Disappointing it was called off but there was no way it could be played with so much water on the pitch.
I can't believe that other game went ahead. Definitely a case of a greedy ref putting his wallet in front of players safety. Should never have went ahead!

Hopefully it's a good thing, maybe by the time we play them again they'll be out of the running for the league title and will already be automatically qualified meaning they'll be playing have hearted!
It's all about beating Connor now and beating demense

Doesnt matter if the ref plays the match or not lads he still gets his fee...I had to give our ref a £10 as did Wakehurst and the same the day our match was called off against Woodside.
Wee break will do us well and as Rab says we'll know better the out come of the appeal and see how the land lays.

Agree - our game played tonite on a pitch that was nothing short of a marsh - very dangerous, however played in a good spirit and glad to say no casualties on either side. Def a ref only interested in the money

You would think he'd have learned from allowing a game to go ahead in similar conditions a few years ago in which a player suffered a broken leg. Idiot!

What you on about lol?
Yeah we tried to clear the pitch of water that time at ours. In the end you guys didn't want to play it which was fair enough as there is a risk of injury playing in such conditions.
The referee called the game off last night. The pitch was in bad nick though with large amounts of water on it. No way it could be played TBH.

I'd like to know the last time the council spent any money on checking/repairing/improving the drainage system on their pitches. The whole thing is a joke to be honest! Wakehurst in particular is a disgrace!

Woodster my good man ask Lee and Stewarty the ref what I said and they will tell you that if the ref was happy to play it so was I. Stewarty asked me what I thought and I said that they had Id give them all the time they needed to make the pitch playable and thats the truth. Our boy would have played it in any conditions and we didnt go crying to the ref that we couldnt play our slicky smooth football on a s**te pitch lol.
I at least gave the Wakehurst lads the chance to make it playable...

Wakehurst in particular is a disgrace! Ask the MP for the area why there is no investment in the pitches if he tells you anything other than he and his family (close and broader) need the money to live a great lifestyle then he is lying!!!
