Away to Fc Interstars next weekend up at Waveney 1. Big game and everyone involved yesterday will get another run out next week theres the new signings to come in and other players in contention for places so a good turn out at training is essential to cement your place.
As its a cup game I will give the new lads a run out to see what they are like and as I said in the changing room on sat we are building a squad for next season.

Doing ok I think Kirk mate they are a big strong team with some good footballers and if we get thru this round we are away to Randalstown Athletic in the next round.
Only got 1 of my new signings put thru tonight so Id like to welcome Paul McCambridge to the swifts and I am told he will be a good addition to our squad and looking forward to next season we will have a pool of around 20 players max at the club.

PC is a good fooballer, heard he might have been signing for us so kind of disappointed he signed for you.
Can play alot of positions, at Michelin a couple years back he played right back, centre and right midfield and up front.

Yeah I have heard nothing but good reports about PC so really looking forward to getting a few games from him. He will add some quality to the midfield area and competition for places thru out the squad is unreal. Game on sat so PC will get a run out and il see for myself just what a good signing he will be for us. Thanks has to go to Bobby for bringing Paul to the club and I think from all accounts that he is a really nice lad and he will fit in well with the players already at the club.

I have a wee bit of history with mitchelin and I played there for a few seasons with Pete Mairs managing. Great club and I really enjoyed my time with them. Good wee squad we are getting for next season and its all about boys who wana wear the jersey and compete for places.
Mitchelin going nicely in the 2nd Il maybe have a wee chat with Ally and see if we can get something done pre season.

It should probably be Michelin old boys Vs Michelin older boys. That's not so good Mitty. Just take it easy mate. If you like we can have a Night at the Races to raise a deposit for a retirement home.

Played for both Michelin teams and then the combined Michelin team when they amalgamated and really enjoyed my years there! Class set up and facilities.
Its a pity the factory did away with the paying players to get coverage for Friday night shifts and Saturday day shifts as it helped to entice good players that worked in the factory to play for the team. Bit s**t they stopped it TBH.

If we just could stop drawing so many games (and not let Braid beat us every time we play them!) we probably would have got automatic promotion this season.

great result for us yesterday!! thats definately the best team performance since i've been here, played without any complaining and some great football. inter stars are a very good side but we played them off the pitch at times, and could have scored more than 4!! the wind played a big park and we used it more effectively than they did.
who do we get in the next round???

Yeah away to Randalstown Athletic in the next round for us.
Yesterday marked my 1st full year in charge of the swifts and in the 12 months I have had the honour of looking after things that was the best I have seen us play by a mile. For us not having a keeper and players out through injury it was brilliant honestly I cant praise the team highly enough. The lads up front worked their socks off and never let Inter play their football, Greene mate what can I say but you played yesterday as if you'd been a centre half all your life and you used your head in some of the situations, Square very unlucky mate hitting the cross bar twice and forcing the keeper into a good save with your 25 yard thunder bolt in the 1st half, Mark Young was class again for us and he never fecking stops running and for those I missed you all played fantastic.
We played extra time yesterday and not once at any stage did I see any of our boys gasping for breath or looking tired so obviously the hard work put in by you at training is paying off and a few more wee sessions before the mid weeks and we should be in good physical shape. The wee silly things we do at training help lads and altho at the time you wonder what this fat bloke has you doing it all has an end result and nothing is done purely for a laugh, as our fitness levels are showing. Again I say you can be the fittest man on the earth and be able to run all day but if you cant do it with a ball at your feet you might as well have me on lol.
Big game next week vs a good Woodside team so Thursday night is important for continuity within the squad so make sure we all get to training and keep your place.
