Best bet would be to go on Google maps and look for Postcode: BT42 4HX or Woodside Rd, Ballymena

Next fixture in the Junior Shield at home against St Matthews this Saturday. They are in Division One of the Belfast and District League. Anyone care to share their thoughts on this one?

Well cocky, i don't know about the standard at which they play but, judging by their league table you boys definitely have the harder fixture. Greencastle have a 100% record and best goal difference in only 6 games compared to other teams with more matches played. So good luck with that. It all depends on the standard of football, really. Looking at the numbers, we would fancy our chances. However, St Matthews could be one of the worst in a good bunch.

We played Ardoyne WMC a few years back, possibly three.
They are in the league above and they beat us one nil. We had a really poor side at the time.
Having said that our pitch helped us, as it wasn't for fast flowing football. Not to mention the 200+ supporters we had. ;D ;D
I'd give Mich and the View every chance.

Unfortunately perdictions wrong....... I think!
Game should prob never have been played, most the pitch was frozen solid but the other team (from Bell shaft )arrived before the ref turned up, so think a riot would have started that they travelled the whole way down for it to get called off, especially with hiring a mini bus and all.
Anyway the ref put the game back 30 mins to see if it was playable, decided to give it 10 mins then with about 15 mins left he abondoned it!
Between these times we were getting beat 2-0, one a penalty. It was the only two shots they had, we had plenty of possession, at least a dozen corners.....but no goals! To be fair they were shocking conditions, was like playing on concrete, we couldnt get started at all (alot of that IMO was that most of us didnt think there was any chance it would be played) and they punished us for that. Not the worst team around at all to be fair.
Think its going to go the the Co.Antrim FA to decide what they do with the game, but im pretty sure they will get the win cause so much of the game was played.

Mitty i thought cos you's owned your own pitch, it was sorta at your discretion whether the pitch is playable or not??

Mitty i thought cos you's owned your own pitch, it was sorta at your discretion whether the pitch is playable or not?? think in a situation like yesterday it's the ref's call, might be wrong though

Maybe our siyuation yesterday might clear things up a bit for you. At the Forum, our game and Abbeyview and Randalstown Athletic all had the games called off as we were heading out to the pitch. The Forum had passed the pitches playable that morning but the refs all called the games off. This is probably nothing to do with the fact that Mr Snoddy (ex irish league ref) had turned up to assess the refs performances. They all kacked themselves and called the games off. Our oppositions bus had left and wasn't picking them up until 10pm! Needless to say, they all had a great time anyway!
