The Saints came marching in.... winning the Ace Cup Final thanks to two first half goals from Aidan O'Kane and Paul McCann. The Saints opened strong with Aidan O'Kane making good runs down the right and it was no surprise when he opened the scoring after six minutes. A long kick out by Saints keeper Timmy Connolly caught the Holywell defence out and left Aidan O'Kane free and he coolly slotted the ball past the helpless Holywell keeper Keith Weise. Saints continued to dominate and they doubled their lead on 25 minutes when Paul McCann rose highest at the back post to head home an Aaron Lemon corner, and a rout looked on. Credit to Holywell they dug in and fought their way back into the game with Ryan Canning and Gavin McConnell finally getting to grips with the game Holywell reduced the deficit just before half time when a Paul McCallin corner kick was superbly headed home by Gavin McConnell. The goal just before the half time whistle should have acted as a spur for Holywell but in the second half Saints again took the initative creating chance after chance, with Aaron Lemon somehow firing wide when finding himself one to one with Keith Weise in the Holywell goal. Paul McCann then had two great chances with headers at the back post but he failed to get the third goal which would have put the game beyond Holywell. Although Saints were missing chances the potent Holywell strike force of Paul McCallin and Ian Scott were feeding off scraps as they found the Saints back four impossible to breakdown with Ally McGarry and Ryan Lyness outstanding. In the end the goals in the first half was enough for Saints to claim their second Ace Cup win after a five year wait. After the final whistle BSML Chairman David King presented the Ace Cup on behalf of sponsors Ace Fixings, Ballymena to All Saints OB Captain Ally McGarry and the celebrations began. All Saints OB: Timmy Connolly, Orhan Deprato, Brian Watt, Eoin Hudson, Alostair McGarry, Ryan Lyness, Aidan O'Kane, Ciaran Lemon, Liam Cassley, Paul McCann, Aaron Lemon. Subs: Conor Crilly, Peter McCann, Damien Casey, Damien Kelly, Paddy Logan. Holywell: Keith Weise, John Getty, John Scott, Paul Hylands, Peter Daley, Gavin McConnell, Ryan Canning, Paul McCallin, Ian Scott, Ryan McAuley. Subs: Jeff Johnson, Jeff McNicholl, John Majury, Nicky Ryles, Peter Daley. Referee: Mr Gary Crawford. Asst. Referees: Mr.Finlay Sloan, Mr.Derek Stewart.
