League Pair Get Meaty Sponsorship Fillip.
Two of Randalstowns soccer's biggest names have today been announced as the subjects of a remarkable sponsorship campaign. For a well known 'fast food' outlet has decided to 'beef up' its turnover by recruiting the services of Randalstown Reds Matthew Patton and Simon Brown.
The two local hotshots, will next season, wear the logo of the world famous company ON THEIR BOOTS. In a move which is set to guarantee genorous financial reward for both Patton and Brown, there is also an issue concerning IFA guidelines on 'player sponsorship', and the legality of such.
Taking a moment out to comment on the historic deal was Local Area Manager of McDonalds, Stuart Rowntree, "this is an obvious partnership, a move which we have been considering for years and a mutually beneficial one, we have always had a great relationship with Randalstown Reds Football Club, the two guys themselves are regulars in many of our outlets, so why not go public and continue to help our fantastic local game?"
He added, "Football is such a popular game, we couldn't fail insecuring two of the local arena's biggest stars to help advertise our products"
Mathew Patton today didn't wish to disclose the exact terms of the deal, and was instead keen to wax lyrical about the coming season and Randalstown Reds excellent success in the inaugural BSML Cup.
"We really bounced back well from the obvious disappointment of the league's anti-climax to do well in the cup. We will be ready for next season, sealing this deal with McDonalds has only re-affirmed my hunger for success next season, it was Scott Bruce who put us in touch with Stuart at McDonalds, and we were impressed with their ambition to put local football on the map too. We are the first of many players who will be involved, also in school events, to train kids and get them involved".
"I'm not too sure about the boot logo idea" he quipped, "a few of the lads in the dressing room might have something to say about that"
One things for sure, his hunger will never be questioned again.
