I dunno if any of you know but for the sake of information.
Jackie ewart's team have had their dignity (among other things) taken from them after being caught fielding an illegal player.
They were deducted four points; fined £100 and the illegal player banned for 8 months, as I've been told.
Now from what I've heard; I dunno whether or not to see pity on the Reds or not because apparently they were warned by the other team he was playing for about 10 minutes before Jackson placed him in the team for the day.
Silly, stupid; and at the end of the day deserved what they got. Whether the team agreed with him playing or not; anf from what I've heard there wasn't too many objections.
Wonder what the rest of the memebers think of this turn of events. I seen some other threads on here recently about illegal players, might be a deterant
What are you's at lads; catch urselfs on!
All the best - A worried local football fan.

All of this is true and it has created a lot of bad feeling on all sides in the town The problem is this was taken to the League by Randalstown Athletic which I think was a stupid thing to do, considering that they had nothing to gain by this and second there are mates playing in the different teams in the town and it has affected everybody as they take sides. I think the sooner everyone can start concentrating on playing football again and giving each other a bit of respect again the better, and I think Athletic should maybe think a little first next time and see the bigger picture before making a decision that in my opinion has done no one and certainly done themselves no good at all.

IMO any cheaters should be reported. Good on Athletic for doing the right thing.
Sorry, this is something I feel strongly about.

I've jsut read that Athletic were at the same sort of antics so I do see your point Alex. Bit of a brass neck on them.

Both teams should be done; the Reds shouldn't have just followed suit with what Athletic did, so they both deserve to get deducted points/fined and banned.
They'd no reason to in the first place...it's all just a big shambles...

Lads.....u all seem to be missing the actual point of this. Would there have been such an uproar if a Ballymena team or an Antrim team had of tipped the league to the reds 'goings-on'..........simple answer of course not. At the end of the day the Jackson Ewart should have known better than to do what he did and should have the player involved. Lads...its football and it brings out the competitiveness in all of us, especially when both teams are fighting to stay up in the same league. It would be good to see more teams doing what Athletic did and maybe....just maybe it would put an end to the 'cheating' that goes on in these leagues. Now if Athletic were up to the same antics then someone should have tipped the league of to them. Cheaters are cheaters....whether there ur mates or not.

Quite right TheCat. Jackson should've simply went to the league about Athletic instead of following them suit. The uproar is because Athletic were doing it as well; the teams were playing each others players. Jackson just called their bluff...or at least I hope he did because then his actions would make sense.

A month...spamming is clearly mentioned in the rules.
I can see no reason why you replied in here with that comment apart from to make your post count higher, if you'd actually added something to the discussion it would have helped Scott.
