A battling draw for Shore against 2nd placed Cullybackey, however it feels like 2 points dropped
Shore started brightest, with chris McIntyre hitting the post after 2 minutes with a 25 yard drive, before inexplicably Cullybackey were 2 goals up, the first from a well placed free kick and the second form a fortunate lob over the Shore keeper after kevin Downey had missed a header in defence. Shore kept battling and got themselves back into it witha Willy Brown strike being fumbled by he keeper. Shore then Equalised with Philly Sheridan running onto a Willy Brown slide rule pass to make it 2-2.
Shore started the second half sleeping and once again with Anto Quigg failing to deal with a long ball and the striker pounced to make it 3-2 toCullybackey. Shore then comitted suicide again from a long abll and Cullybackey gratefully made it 4-2. from there it was pure Shore pressure with the cullybackey keeper making some top class saves before Wiilly Bornw scored from close range following a corner. Shore pressed and pressed and in the final minute substitute Barry Graham scored a bullet header from a Kevin Downey free kick to take a share of the points.
On a final note, there was no ref today and i would like to extend sincere thanks to the Cullybackey guy who did the job. He ran the game well, was willing to play the advantage and was an all round class act, a lot better than some of the "proper" refs we have had.
