Just thought I'd point out that the only player Karl added to the exisitng squad to get promoted twice in two years and reach a cup final..........was............. a certain fat goalkeeper with an eye for a pie. ;D ;D  Yeah but i think the fact that Karl picked the team to win the game helped catgirl Unlike Ronnie, nuff said. If you think all it took was a change in goalkeeper to gain promotion 2 season in a trot, i dont think its my football knowledge thats lacking ;D ;D |

If you think all it took was a change in goalkeeper to gain promotion 2 season in a trot, i dont think its my football knowledge thats lacking ;D ;D Im not knocking Karl and his ability to spot a good signing and field a good team. So what your saying is that a team wins or loses depending on the managers selections..........in that case......you and you alone are solely repsonsible for the demise of Massereene Swifts. They are technically very good, although when they get tackled they sound like they are giving birth!!! Very Strange game with some curious ref decisions for both sides, our first goal came about from a free kick inside the box, their keeper had rolled the ball out to the right back who was in the box, Aggy must have thought he had taken a goal kick, and gave us a free kick!  . Would have to say of the 4 goals we conceded we gave them all away with stupid schoolboy errors, 1st was a sh7t offside call and everyone stopped, 2nd was Marty going down in stages to stop a free kick, 3rd was a quick free kick we didnt get organised for and 4th was a penalty given for a non-foul a yard outside the box. Just cannot give them boys chances like that. Would have to say when we got it back to 2-2 they looked rattled, i have a feeling if teams take the lead against them they could be very vunerable. |

We are still in the hunt for the play-offs, just need to to sort out a few things "in house" ,cant really get a run going due to free weeks (another one this week ffs) and boys missing games.
We played the match on Saturday just to get Interstars out of the road, we could easily have called it off due to weather, but would rather play them on a Saturday than some Wednesday night in April.
I note we still havent had the pleasure of Cloughmills away yet, hope to feck Monte doesnt pull that one out for a midweek match, will have to leave at lunchtime

Donko i have a feeling that most of Cloughmills remaining home games will be in April and probably during the week, their pitch is a joke ffs. Seen your game at the weekend most of the goals from set pieces there 2nd was a very weak one to let in, were you missing your usual keeper?
How many games will Sean miss, thought his first yellow was a bit harsh, hand ball in the centre of the pitch, yet some tackles that should have been yellows from both teams were not given.

Chris Wheatley has been doing nets for most of the season, but he was at a Stag do, Marty had been doing them when Chris was injured, but was dropped on Chris's return. He had a chance on Saturday to stake a claim again.
Im not sure about Sean, think it will be just a match. Surprised we got a red, especially after we subbed Banjo upon the refs advice.

Leaving a very weak squad. The rest speaks for itself. |

In all honesty i think that Ally did have 1 hell of a job to do when he took over, it could have been easier for him to say feck it a long time before the end of last season.
I can remember when the only game we looked forward to was Castle Knights (and that was only 2 seasons ago when i was still playing) Getting up on Saturday, knowing you are going to get beat is demoralising enough for a player, god knows what its like when you are manager. There have been times when i have wanted to quit even after we have won!!! Theres a lot more to it than just picking a 16 on a Saturday morning, a hell of a lot more and like Puggy we didnt have a lot to work with when myself and Geoff started out, luckily we managed to get in a few quality players and get a committee up and running.
