In the early 1970s Glenarm F.C entered the Larne District League boasting players such as Tony Hoey,Dan McCauley,David Hastings then with each new generation brought more and more talent through Richard (dodo) McCullough,Roy Aiken,Victor Haveron and Martin Hunter in the 80s!When the larne league finished in the 90s so did Glenarm F.C But in 1996/97 Johnny (Dew) Robinson and a few BB members started up a team named Glenarm Rovers F.C signing players such as Mat Boyd, legend Roy Aiken,James Ingles,Gary Montgomery and Gareth Aiken and entering the bsml though a few years on the Rovers had to play any home fixtures in larne due to no changing facilities which must be a disadvantage in terms of support.Glenarm have went through a few managers with ,Stephen Montgomery snr,Richard (dodo) McCullough,Stephen Montgomery jnr,Martin Hunter and Terry Hastings.the rovers have won 2 div 3titles and have been promoted a few times but are yet to reach the 1div though this could well be the year. the team has some cracking players such as cyril mccosh, johnny black, gareth hastings, aaron wright and aaron mulvenna all who have been across the water on trials with prem or 1st div clubs!some would say that this is the best ever glenarm side but sum could differ???onward and upwards for Glenarm Rovers F.C!!!!

Being a bit of a vetran to the club of Glenarm Rovers i have played in a few different teams over the years but last season and this season i think we have strengthened our team in key positions. The current team has quality players in every position not just one or two which might have been the case in other seasons even the players that are on the bench some weeks are quality which makes the first 11 players stay on there toes our else they will be dropped. There is also good atmosphere in the camp which helps a team play better i feel so i hope the results keep coming our way and another league title may be possible. UP THE ROVERS!!!
