1st Round
Ballykeel f.c. 2 - 1 Steadfast
How this game kicked off is beyond me as having arrived five mins after kick off due to my gemmy knee i couldn't even see the pitch for the fog. Standing at the half way line i couldn't even describe either of the opening two goals cos i couldne see f**k all. Steadfast took the lead 20mins in and the roar from their sideline let me know they had scored. Our equalizer shortly after was scored by Aaron Balmer, just seen him turning in the box and again never ssen the ball hit the net. As the half wore on visibility started to get slightly better just in time for me to see Barry Bonnes hit a wonder goal from 30yards out which hit the top corner. Second half started with conditions just as bad and the football wasn't the prettiest on a very heavy pitch. Both teams had some great chances, with Steadfast guilty of a couple of howling misses that could have put this into extra time. This was a very tightly contested affair in the end and at the end of the day we won and thats all that matters. Personally think the league should have a break for a month over the new year cos the pitches don't make for great football.

What kind of side use have today after last week's defeat? Anyone let you's down today? You're right mate, St Comgalls have different faces playing for their Home games than the one's for the Away games.

Thats the problem going away to Larne, you know nobody and they can pull anybody on to play, very surprised with the result, but then nothing surprises me with them boys. They must have two sides, one for home and one for away games. You didn't hear how Abbeyview done or even Galgorm against Cullybackey?

You didn't hear how Abbeyview done or even Galgorm against Cullybackey? thats done and dusted doc, wev been punished for that mistake. all are players are properly registered. as for the match against conor i new wed win. i laughed at all your predictions. no body had us to win. ok were bottom of the league, but thats cause we lost so much points - due to the deduction, not because wer s**te! i also pointed out to conor rangers memebers on there site that they only beat us up there because 3 of our influencial players - 2 of which easily the best players we have were picked up at a party (which was still goin on) on saturday morning to collect there stuff an head up to the conor match. now they were f**ked so u can see we maybe wernt at are best then. so this crap about 2 teams is balls. we play better at home - well sandy bay because its a decent pitch, some of them other away pitches are pish so no good for football. conor were unlucky, crap actually, cause they had a s**te goalie - 2 infact. and to make things worse one of our coaches was playin at the back to steady things up - an hes prehistoric. think about it - every team should be better at home. good luck in next round.

i know thats done and dusted lawnmowerman but it is a problem that does occur alot in the league, especially when you travel miles out of the town. No one says your a poor team mate, just think it was a big shock on saturday considering how Connor have been playing in recent months. Good luck in the next round as well, heres hoping youse get a wee away draw up at the Keel, so we can hammer your 2nd team

Aye just wouldn't say we were crap now thelawnmowerman...the two Keepers yes. Sure we missed a bagfull of chances..especially me missing three clear cut ones. Your Number 6 followed me about that Pitch all game on Saturday.
Thankfully our original Keeper has promised us he'll stop working Saturdays and play for us.

Yeah he told our manager on Friday Night from this Saturday on he'll be there for us. That isn't the only good news we got, we also found out our left back will be back for next weeks game against All Saints as he was out with a broken bone in his Shoulder. Braid away this week, you know anything about them mate?

Braid away this week, you know anything about them mate? only that we played them off the park when they came up to Ballykeel, missed too many chances to count and got beat 2 - 1. Mind you braid are a bit of a bogey team for us, shouldn't be a problem for youse on sat provided you get Lee back in nets.

1/4 Final
Randalstown Reds 1 - 2 Ballykeel f.c
The Keel started this game the way they finished last week's game pushing their hosts back at every opportunity. The Randalstown keeper was kept very busy in the first half as the Keel pinned their opponents deep in their own half. First chance came to the Keel on 20mins when a great ball over from Mark McKay saw a great header from Barry Bonnes strike the post and cleared with the keeper stranded. Chance of the half arrived for big Kenny Wright of the Keel who outpaced the home defence shortly before the break only to see his tame effort turned over the bar by the Reds keeper when it was easier to score.
Second half saw the Keel continue on the front foot playing some great football out the flanks but to no avail when it came to finishing. Randalstown then scored on a rare forray forward when awarded a free kick just outside the box. Yong Studs in the Keel nets then made a pigs ear out of the defensive wall and forgot to cover the unguarded post. A sidefoot of a freekick was tucked into the corner with the keeper left stranded. Instead of the heads going down the Keel perservered and got their reward of an equaliser shortly after. A mix up in the Reds defense let our makeshift centre forward Rusty in to blast home the equaliser. At this stage there was only going to be one winner and this was the case with ten minutes to go. A clearance from Studs was misjudged by a Red's defender and Rusy was able to outpace him before finishing cooly past the outrushing keeper. A great performance by the Keel who played all the good football on the night with the Reds resorting to alot of long balls over the top, but with Rusy and Timmy Hume on top form this was never going to be a danger.
ps who wrote the report in the Guardian for our drawn match against the Reds last week cos it was the biggest heap of s**te i've read all week. it gave the impression we were lucky to come away with a draw, but in truth if it hadn't been for their keeper we would have won the game by a country mile. just wish the powers that be would right a fair report or don't write one at all.

Doc I can assure you it was nobody from the Reds wrote the Guardian report I have not even seen it . But your report on the 1/4 final totally disagree with what you say but good luck in your last 2 league games may the best teams go up without the playoff!!

cheers liverpoolhater
back 4, i know no one from the Reds made the report just stating what a load of s**te it read.
I would like to wish yous boys the very best for the remainder of the season as anyone of the three of us deserve to go up but if its through the playoffs so be it. As for the game the other night mate we totally dominated from start to finish as i says in my report and those were the facts.

Doc was at the match last night and you certainly had your chance's but Athletic dug in and won the cup. You will have tough match's in the playoffs if you are to get promoted so good luck to Ballykeel for the rest of the season and by the way both league championship and McAuley cups can be viewed in Maine street Randalstown
