Hey Doc u prick it wasnt me he was talking about, i was wearing number 4 not number 7 as everyone knows Im not ugly, im sexi as fuk, just ask your girl. Lawnmower man everything doc says is correct, we had 2subs and a manager on our touchline, yous boys had about 20blokes and all they did was slabber all match. And by the way i was the one wearing number4 and you refered to me as the hard man who wanted to fight everyone. Listen here, im no soft touch on the pitch so do you honestly think Im going to stand back and let your tema kick and slabber at some of the younger boys in our team, i think not. I watched yous play Riverdale at wakehurst earlier this season and were hammered 7 or 8 and the team you fielded was nothing like the team we played. You prob do not realise I played twice against yous last seaon for the homers and yous were at your work again playing inelidgeble players. Play who you want against us, the championship is still for coming back to Ballykeel at the end of the season. chill out. it was a windup. dont take everything so serious. there was some crap. as doc said, on both sides. no malice on our behalf. i can assure you of that. aye you watched us play up there. we had 20 bloks up there. same as in larne boys who cant make the team and other club members. no trouble makers (like some other teams) - just out to see there mates play football. yeah we were awful that nite. with the excpetion on the subs i think the team (quite sure actually) was virtually the same. the reason y we were s**te was cause it was a monday, and the majority of the team (or the influential players) were still on the beer partying (so to speak) late sunday nite. hence the reason, not interested, hungover lets go home. but was embarrasing.

It doenst matter what compitition you get sent off in, you still miss two matches. You check the rules cause if he plays, we will protest. Oh and that includes the guy who was sent of against the Reds. Got his name written down somewhere. PS....Camera phones are great you know.

Ballykeel f.c. 6 - 2 Randalstown Athletic
Another good win for the Keel against a much improved Athletic side. Hami opened the scoring with a cracker into the top corner after turning his marker and letting rip from 20 yards. Rusty followed this up shortly after having received the ball on the touchline and cutting insided his marker leaving him for dead with his pace and curling one beyond the keeper for a great goal. Athletic got their just rewards when they scored a super free kick from outside the box and at this stage were well in the match. Unfortunately tho the stuffing was knocked out of them just before half time with the goal of the game. A free kick by myself was nodded on by Ossie and was met flush on the volley by Stephen Mc kay and it flew into the top corner. The second half was all one way traffic for the Keel with Hami grabbing a couple more for his hatrick and Rusty scoring another cracker, again showing his pace as he ran from inside his own half outpacing the defence and round the keeper for a clinical finish (never hear the end of it). Randalstown scored straight from a corner late on but they can count themselves lucky it wasn't double figures today as Hami and co missed chance after chance and if Hami knew what offside meant he would have had a field day today.

Ballykeel f.c. 6 - 3 Cloughmills Thistle
First half started very even with both teams attacking from the off, and it was definitely game on against a big Cloughmills team. They opened the scoring with a nice header before Justy equalised soon after with a quality finish from inside the box. Alot of chances fell for the keel after this but poor finishing in front of goal cost us dearly. Just before the half a slip by Smyhie in goals laid the ball to their centre forwad who made no mistake to put Cloughmills two one up. For the first 15 mins of the second half the Keel never turned up and should have paid the price. Cloughmills missed a couple of gilt aged chances to stretch their lead and how they rued these misses. An Ossie Wylie volley levelled things up with half an hour left and this was the start of the rout. Barry Bonnes came on and bagged himself a brace before another couple from Justy made it six and but for some shocking misses the score could have hit double figures at this stage. All credit to Cloughmills who battled back in the last ten to salvage another consolation but by this time they had run out of steam. They will definitely take points off alot of teams this year as they are a big very skillful outfit and had they took their chances after the break things would have been alot different. Another good win for the Keel that puts us 3 points clear at the top, and although the performance could have been alot more polished today its the result that matters the most.

Seven Towers 0 - 1 Ballykeel f.c.
Great to get back at it with the suspension now lifted and with Riverdale and the Reds slipping up today the keel have now opened a four point lead at the top. The game started off at a frantic pace with the keel having to endure five or six nasty tackles on our players before the ref reached for his pocket. The Keel were really up for this and peppered the Towers goals playing some great football but just unable to convert their chances with Justy Rowe guilty of missing an open net, having rounded the keeper and sticking the ball the wrong side of the post. Five minutes before the half Justy was caught with another wreckless challenge from behind and his reaction to this earned him a straight red card. With the Keel down to ten you'd have thought it would have been backs against the wall in the second half but it was far from it. Attack after attack was thwarted by Dinger and co at the back for the towers otherwise we would have been goals up. The only goal of the game arrived with 20mins to go when a great 40 yard pass up field split the home defence from Martin Millar and Kenny Wright duley obliged with a clinical finish. Towers had a late penalty claim waved away, one which could have been given if the player had just of went down instead of doing a mad dive and roll over. Deserved win for the Keel, with special mention going to Rusty for his m.o.m performance, big neb was outstanding and done well in looking after my armband for the day. Good result against a well organised Towers team who were lead well by Dinger. Four points clear and were cruising. ;D ;D ;D

Clough Rangers 1 - 3 Ballykeel f.c.
This game started at a frantic pace with the football swinging from end to end, but it was the Keel who were creating the clear cut chances. A great move involving half the team resulted in the opening goal after 20mins. Big Mc Burney, playing his first game in months, latched on to a great cut back to steer the ball home at the near post. Another couple of glaring misses by Hami were soon forgot about when Jason Mc Kay cracked home a volley from 20 yards 5 mins before the break to increase our lead. The Keel never appeared for the first 20 mins of the second half as Rangers threw everything at us. Unfortunately for them they had an inform back 4 to crack down in which Marty and Rusty were outstanding. Big Alec in nets pulled off two cracking saves for us before we gradually took control of things again. A super run through their defence ten mins from time by Hami and great finish put paid to any hope of a Rangers comeback. Five mins from time they did get a consolation with a scrappy goal, but all in all we deserved the 3 points. A great game of football against a Rangers team who definitely gave as good as they got. And with our star forward still suspended for another game, things can only get better for the Keel.

R'town Athletic 2 - 2 Ballykeel f.c.
Not much to report on this as i abandoned ship on saturday to watch the mighty pool beat spurs at Anfield. Have to say i wasn't too confident of getting any sort of result on saturday after the two McKays who play in midfield pulled out of the game on friday. This just added to myself, Marty, Justin Rowe and Alex in nets not being able to turn out. Considering this and the run Athletic have been on recently, a draw has to go down as a great result for us in our quest to get automatic promotion into the first division. Special mention must go out to Rusty who played out of his skin yet again on saturday although not to pleased about their late late equalizer. Looking forward to saturday when the team should be back to full strength for the visit of our local rivals Seven Towers. Goal scorers for the Keel were Rusty and Hami.

Sat 21st January
Ballykeel f.c. 0 - 0 Seven Towers
This game was definitely a big wake up call to the Keel today, easily the worst performance i have ever seen a Ballykeel team play in all the years i have been with them. Performances like this are more accustomed to a team bottom of the third division. i think we created two clear cut chances in the whole match, one in the first half which cracked the post and one in the last minute when again a ferocious effort from Justy Rowe again slapped the inside of the post and managed to fly past every keel player who came steaming in to finish it off. In saying that our keeper had very little to do throughout the game, but a game in which the Towers battled for every ball and created a couple of good chances for themselves. Towers back four were awesome today and didn't give us a sniff. Thats two draws now in two games, which is not good enough, although were not getting beat its hardly league winning form. Big match next week away to Riverdale when the boys are going to have to stand up and be counted or kiss this league goodbye.

actually was a back 3 today mate, we were playing 3 at the back wit wing backs. seemed to work for us as we stifled the life out of most of your attacking play and limited u's to long range shots. i think it was a pretty even game, played on a very heavy pitch, apart from maybe the first 20mins of the second half when u's had us under a bit of pressure. but i have to be honest, and this isn't wanting to sound bad, but havent been overly impressed wit keel in the last two tomes we've played u. u beat us one nil at showgrounds from a defensive mistake and then today. def not much between towers and keel but id say u's just have a bit more going forward. its gonna be tough to call whos gonna win the league, but i still fancy keel....not much gets by marty millar and rusty at the back and on their day rowe and bonesy can cause problems
all the best for rest of season.....it might be our last wee derby in a while if u's go up to the first! have to say i'll miss them!!!
