Ballykeel 3 - 0 Steadfast
A cracking opening match in which both teams went all out in search of the 3 points. Both teams like to play football on the deck but the difference on the night was our strikers Justin Rowe and Kenny Wright. Kenny eventually got himself on the scoresheet having previously missed 4 one on ones with their keeper. It was Justin Rowe who stole the show with two brilliant goals, firstly breaking at pace from our half past a few bemused Steadfast players before giving the keeper no chance with a great finish. The second was a free kick from 30 yards, hit with such pace it looked to be going over but dipped at the last minute straight into the top corner. A good result for the Keel but write Steadfast off at your own peril, they are a quaity side who will be in the shake up for promotion come the end of the season.

Connor 0 - 4 Ballykeel f.c.
A good night out in Kells for the Keel with big Alec having very little to do in nets. Marty and Rusty controlled things at the back superbly which set things up nicely for an easy victory. Big Kenny Wright tapped in the first before a crisp volley into the top peg by Ossie Wylie made it two going in at half time. The second half belonged to Justin Rowe who decided to take on half the Connor team from inside his own half, before unleashing a thunder bolt from 25 yards into the top corner of the net. The same player finished things off with another tap in, but had guilt edged chances been taken the scoreline could easily have been doubled.

Ballykeel f.c. 1 - 2 Braid
This game beggars belief as the Keel dominated from start to finish but credit must be given to Braid as games are won on goals not chances and they scored from their two chances and we missed chance after chance (Hammy). The game should have been over by half time only for a few boys inability to strike a football between the goal posts. The game took a turn in the second half with a gift of a goal for Braid which resulted in our keeper being taken off after a freak accident. Big Alec sustained a nasty injury to his shoulder, neck area but thankfully after a night in the hospital the big man is alright. Jason Mc Kay went into nets but could do nothing to stop Braid scoring after a moments lapse in concentration by the defence. A goal from Justin Rowe with ten minutes to go was not enough as Braid withstood the onslaught late on as chances flew everywhere bar the back of the net. Definitely 3 points dropped but its still early days, plenty to play for.

Cullybackey 0 - 4 Ballykeel f.c.
Another good win for the Keel with the return of big Kenny Wright making the difference in a first half in which we totally dominated. Kenny put the keel 3 nil up in the first 20 mins and but for a host of missed chances this game would have been put to bed by half time. Hammy came off the bench at half time and had several good chances to break his duck but his luck is not in at the minute. Stephen Mc Kay put the game beyond doubt with a good finish early in the second half after a fumble by the keeper. Credit to Cullybackey who totally dominated in the last 20 mins as the keel took their foot off the pedal, and only for some good handling by Smythie in nets and some missed chances the scoreline could have been alot different. Three points is all that counts at this stage of the season even tho the performance wasnt quite up to scratch, and with Justin Rowe playing for Connor tonight things can only get better.

v Abbeyview won 6 - 3
v Galgorm lost 2 - 0
no match reports on these two games as the Costa's appealed more to me for a couple of weeks. Great result against Abbeyview but then again everyone seems to be hammering them at the minute. As for Galgorm what can i say, its alright playing pretty football but by all acounts some of our lads couldn't score in a brothel never mind for the Keel (Hammy). Great result for Galgorm, points dropped to easily by the Keel.

Ballykeel f.c. 5 - 1 Riverdale
With the Manager and myself back from holidays this week things could only get better after last weeks f***ing shambles against Galgorm. Justin Rowe stole the show in the first half outpacing the Riverdale defence on two occasions before unleashing two blistering shots past the helpless Georger Foster, before rounding off his hatrick before half time with a wicked free kick from 25 yards. Riverdale pushed hard at the beginning of the second half but the game was over as a contest when one of their defenders received a second yellow card for a blatant foul. A tap in by Mark Mc Kay was soon followed by a clinical volley from the edge of the box by Riverdale to reduce the scoreline. In the last couple of mins Barry Bonnes went on a mazy run out the left, sending Ricky Magill for 20 f*gs before chipping the stranded keeper for a sublime finish. Great result for the Keel against a very good Riverdale side and a much needed win after last weeks hiccup.

St. Comgalls 1 - 1 Ballykeel f.c.
Beware travelling down here to play the rats of Larne, cos they are a bunch of cheating slabbering roots. This match will now be subject to a protest due to the fact their keeper was down under a different name and not even marked down as playing higher league football. Our manager was approached during the game and told their keeper had done nets midweek for Larne against Cliftonville in the C.I.S. cup. God onlys knows how many higher league players they had playing for them and hopefully they will be punished severely by Monty and co. Not much to say about this game as it was contantly being stopped following scuffle after scuffle. They went one up with their only effort on goal in the first half and no matter what we hit at their keeper he saved time and again. We eventually broke through with 15 minutes to go after a nice lay off by Martin Miller fell kindly for big Kenny to fire home. Then in the last minute we were robbed of the win we deserved. The ball was flicked on into the box where Barry Bonnes cooly finished but amazingly it was disallowed for off side. The referee then made a complete c**t of himself by saying it wasnt Barry who was off side but someone else which meant the goal should have stood as they werent interfering with play. Enough said about this game, just looking forward to them coming up to the Keel and hammering their proper team.

er, dont know who told that! one our goal keeper is a signed player, and not the larne goalkeeper stated. get your facts correct. two, there was no scuffles, a minor incident which involved ur player kneeing our player on the head as he tried to get up. but we didnt react or rise to it. third, we had numerous chances to score, particulary in the second half when we had the wind. you had 3, one of which was of side when u continued to run on and score while everyone else had stopped for the whistle. so IT DIDNT COUNT and WOULDNT have. so stop yapping. forth, as for playing so called higher league players, we have been playing with more or less the same 15 so far. if anything our team was slightly weaker as 3 guys had just returned from hols and were on the bench. so u did play our real team. finally on the note of monty and co, hammering us. i wonder, the same may apply to you. the sectarian bile that certain players on our team had to endure during the game was beyond belief. ur supporters standing in there way while trying to take throw ins, mouthing abuse. yeah very sports man ship, and as for your keepers out burst, well i take that to a differant forum and see what the response is. at the end of the day its a game of football, but some of ur players no 1 the mouth, 4 the hardman and 7 the guy with the wrist problem. (that w****r sign he keeps doin must be force of habit hes dead ugly and would never get a girl, so thats prob why he dos it) - force of habit. yeah we will look forward to playing you in the keel. up for a game of football. best of luck for the rest of the season. Lawnmower man you should have went to specsavers mate. Let me go through your different points for you
1: Our manager works in Larne and had it confirmed that your keeper is Chris Keenan and played under the name Paul, so stop bulls**tting us please.
2: What are you crying about when i mentioned that there was a few scuffles, its totally irrelevant to the fact yous fielded an illegible player.
3: Our winning goal should have stood as the ref blew up for a man who wasn't even inerfering with play when the goalscorer was clearly onside.
4: SECTARIANISM - Give me a break mate please, Ballykeel arrived down in Larne with 11 players, 2 subs and an assistant manager to play football (lost count of the number of people on your sideline down for a bit of slabbering). Your player was shoved by one of our subs i agree only cos he kicked this s**t off by calling our manager an 'orange b*****d'. This was followed shortly afterwards by a stupid remark by our keeper in the heat of the moment which we dont need in football. Just for the record mate i'm captain of the team and a left footer myself and i can personally vouch that this team isn't full of sectarian bigots.
5: Must inform my good mate Rusty that you think he's ugly lol ;D ;D what age are you mate and didnt realise you were into boys.
Apart from all that s**t we look forward to our next game with St. Comgalls where hopefully football will be the winner here.

aye ok, cant be bothered with this tit for tat crap, and im sure u cant either. in my eyes there wernt any scuffles (i had seen worse) U mentioned it first. and ur right it has absolutely nothin to do with ur other remark regardin fieldin a illegiable player (which u have been mistaken). regardless, the point u made about r support bein down, believe it or not but the majority were players who werent selected or ex player down from other teams who always come down to watch. in fact 1 of ur lads was talkin to one - wardy. anyway we always get a few down to watch, it gets them away from the wives. as we have both pointed it out, we will look forward to a game of football up in the keel, and as i said b4 best of luck for the rest of the season. ps ur the captain and a left footer. well thats somethin i wouldnt have believed. (in fact i dont) but i remeber u - ur the 1 who wanted to fight wif everybody (No 4?) next time i see u in the slemish ill by u a few pints. haha and ur mate aint ugly, mayb just lonely. good luck on saturday in the shield.

Ballykeel f.c. 4 - 0 Randalstown Ath.
Another easy win for the Keel in a game which should have hit double figures but for some poor finishing and the Randalstown keeper. The first half saw chance after chance go begging before Barry Bonnes stepped up with a sublime volley on the turn which looped over the keeper and in off the bar. Their keeper then pulled off a string of good saves from Justin Rowe and Jason Mc Kay. Two quick goals from Stephen Mc Kay and Justy at the start of the second half knocked the fight out of Randalstown and should have opened the floodgates. Again some poor finishing time and time again especially by Rusty who missed at least four great chances. Its just a pity his left leg didn't work as well as his right as every time he went one on one with the keeper his left peg went awol. Unbelievably tho he managed to score one late on with a cool finish by the keeper. A good win for the keel in the cup and hopefully the start of a long run in it.

Sat 15th October
Ballykeel f.c. 2 - 2 Randalstown Reds
What a cracking game of football this was between the top two in the division. In the first five mins alone great chances to score were passed up by both teams. This game swung from end to end with the tackles flying in and chances galore. The game took a dramatic twist after half an hour when Bonzi jnr was tackled from behind and retaliated as you would do by pushing the lad in the face while he was on the ground. The referee brandished the red card and left the Keel with ten men for the rest of the match. This only spurred us on to better things and shortly after we took the lead with a great move from midfield which sent Justy clear and he cooly finished by the keeper. Second half started in the same fashion as the first with end to end football. Randalstown fashioned an equaliser out of nothing, with a shot from 25 yards out which took a wicked deflection off Marty and sent the keeper the wrong way. Ten minutes later Randalstown took the lead thanks to a horrendous piece of refereing. A ball over the top caught 3 of their players at least ten yards off side but the ref waved play on and they duly scored. This only spurred us on again and we threw everything at them and got our reward when Hammy nipped in round the defence and poked a shot in off the post. The Keel then finished the match the stronger team pushing forward to the death but it wasn't to be. Definitely a great game and in the end a fair result for both teams even tho the ref ruined it.

Hey Doc u prick it wasnt me he was talking about, i was wearing number 4 not number 7 as everyone knows Im not ugly, im sexi as fuk, just ask your girl. Lawnmower man everything doc says is correct, we had 2subs and a manager on our touchline, yous boys had about 20blokes and all they did was slabber all match. And by the way i was the one wearing number4 and you refered to me as the hard man who wanted to fight everyone. Listen here, im no soft touch on the pitch so do you honestly think Im going to stand back and let your tema kick and slabber at some of the younger boys in our team, i think not. I watched yous play Riverdale at wakehurst earlier this season and were hammered 7 or 8 and the team you fielded was nothing like the team we played. You prob do not realise I played twice against yous last seaon for the homers and yous were at your work again playing inelidgeble players. Play who you want against us, the championship is still for coming back to Ballykeel at the end of the season.

The chances I had against Randalstown were hard to take. Ask their defence, when i moved upfront they could not cope with my speed. Im far to quick for most defences in the league, so thompson stick me up there and il get you 60goals a season

weasal, i never said that Bonzi shouldn't have been sent off mate. He definitely deserved to be sent off as he raised his hands and pushed the fella when he was on the ground. What i was saying was that when a player is tackled from behind so badly (and not proteced by the ref) then its fact that they will get up and retaliate. I didn't even go into to any detail about the sending off as its history now as i would have bored you with it and the performance of the ref who was a f**king disgrace.

Junior Shield
Ballynahinch Olympic 8 - 0 Ballykeel f.c.
Where do i start on this one other than to say the referee single handedly ruined this game. This definitely isnt sour grapes on my part as we were never going to win this cup but he gave us absolutely f**k all. We had Martin Millar sent off in the first ten mins for two yellow cards he picked up in the space of a min. The first was for an exchange of words with one of their players who didn't get booked and the second for saying to us 'dont be asking the ref for nothing cos he'll give you f**k all'. He then proceeded during the course of the match to book at least seven other Keel players for opening our mouthes and questioning his decisions. To rub salt into the wound he awarded them a penalty in first half stoppage time againg for f**k all which put them one nil up at the break. The second half was just shooting practice for them as we had put so much into the game in the first half. Enough said about that other than to say we had a great sup back at their bar.
