Just received a phone call that has left me gobsmacked.
Castletown have offically folded.It was decided last night all the kits and any money they have will be given to charity.What a shame, I know they have had their problems this year but I was hoping they could hold things together and regroup during the summer.The league will miss Castletown because over the years they have had some great players & teams.

yeah heard this to. not good seeing any team fold....especially one that has been part of the BSML for so many years and won so many trophies.
Will this mean that Abbeyview and Waveney will both be promoted?

Will this mean that Abbeyview and Waveney will both be promoted? First of all if the rumours are to believed I'm really sorry that Castletown have folded. A long establish club that have graced the BSML for many years and have made many many friends. On your point weeman, if you think about it Castletown were relegated so that means an extra team comes up from the third as Casltetown would have been in the second next year. But the rules are that the third placed team in the third will automatically come up regardless of the play-off final. In that case that means Northend get promoted automatically but if they win their playoff final then Westend will come up automatically as they finished fourth. |

would it not be easier to save the 3rd bottom team rather than all this promotion fiasco

Would just like to say how gutted I am that we have now officially folded would like to give my sincere thanks to the management and players at castletown over the last eleven years.
I hope those who stay in football go to clubs that can be close to being what Castletown once was.
The BSML are not only losing a very successful team but a great club.
Thanks lads well done and all the best for the future.

Jeez, thats bad news indeed, such a long established club as Castletown folding. Surely somebody who loves that club would have scraped together even a few youngsters, took relegation (maybe even twice) and kept this successful club running.
Such a season they had last year, and now to this.....
Football eh??
