what the feck is happining at castletown.its a shambles at the minute.we have went from champs to chumps !we lost two players in stevie nichol & peirce mccauley who scored 40 goals between them weve also lost the best central defensive partnership in the league in owen montague & paul lavery.no players have been brought in ,well there has been additions but from what i have seen you cant call them players they are not even 3rd div standard.add to this the total lack of preparation and apathy shown by the players towards pre-season training its no wonder we are in the predicament we find ourselves in.ive played for and watched castletown for a long time and i have to say i have never seen such dire performances as has been produced.so get it sorted or we will be relegated which would be a pity after our acceivments of last season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yous boys dont go from a deserved League Champion winning side, to a team who cant win a game without some major reason ,but I have no doubt yous will pull your season round sooner or later, although it wont be easy if what Im told is true, that the attitudes are all wrong. Good luck with your season anyway

totally agree with you alex.i have my own opinion on what the main problem is but i dont want to air our dirty washing in public.yes the attitudes of the players leaves a lot to be desired.from what i heard most of the players couldnt be bothered to turn up for training and even a match against a b div club which you would think would generate a bit of interest amonst the players had to be cancelled because they couldnt be arsed to turn up.maybe they think they can live of last seasons acceivments but what do they say.your only as good as your last game.well our last game was so bad its beyond words.and that sums us up this season.

Spectator i think theres no doubt losin mcauley is a massive loss 40 goals is hard to come by same thing happened us last season only the 3 we lost scored over 60 goals the previous season and we struggled!! Think a big problem is that root in centre midfield that couldt play tiddlewinks never mind football i no i slabber but ican do it on the pitch he just runs about threathin 18 yr olds and is useless! Cant remember seein him last season when youse were going well? As for new signin lol ronnie balmer gees sound fella but has had more clubs than tiger woods and usually is non excisaint on the pitch! Relegation def looks on the cards

The last time Castletown won the league Big Armie retired from management. A new manager was appointed ( Paul Quigley) and after having only 3 points at xmas he was relieved of his duties. Armie came back but couldn't save them from relegation. They missd out by 1 point I think.
The same thing has happened again, Big Armie has retired from management. A new manager has been appointed ( Jackie Burrows ) and Castletown look like relegation candidates.
Coincidence or not and here's another one - both Paul and Jackie are ex Enkalon managers.
The big question being asked is - how long will the Castletown committee wait this time before acting?

Theres a lot of good Clubmen over there at that Club and I'm sure they will be working hard to turn things round , and if big Armie is still around he will no doubt offer a bit of advice in the certain ears

Not an easy thing to do. There isn't too many managers in the BSML with his experience. He is a top bloke and I'm sure he will turn it around soon. Quigs managed the Enkalon 2nd team.

Not sure if I'm right here but wasn't it Leo Heggarty who managed Enkalon when they won Div 1A?
I think Jackie managed them when they won the Border Cup.
The point I was making re Jackie and Paul is that they both managed teams at Enkalon.

Any truth in the rumour that Jackie Burrows resigned as manager over the weekend?

resigned/sacked does it matter. all that really maters is that its the right outcome to the terrible situation we find ourselves in.

From what Armie says Lav is a committee member and will not be leaving the club. Billy Clarke is keeping things ticking over until a new manager is appointed.
